Did anyone of us got chance to talk to Canada High Commission directly. I tried calling several times but no luck. There is no place where we can get concrete information. I wish to have a kind of flow chart for this.

my cousin that migrated in the december of 2012 told me that only her husband who was the principal applicant took the ielts exam. now my question is this; is it only the principal applicant that takes the ielts exam or both principal applicant and the spouse

Based on my thoughts and assumptions, I very much am sure, it is principal applicant who takes IELTS. Dependents need not take this. Again we would like to get a formal and more accurate answer for this, may be from CIC.

However, again, is there anyone who can confirm if we need Employment letter before applying for FSW? I could not find a valid satisfactory answer to this so far. As I said earlier, I am unable to reach CIC to clarify this.

@ gopaldutt
ifs not compulsory to have an employment letter before you apply for FSW. but if you have arranged employment in canada prior you apply for FSW then that gives you extra 5 points and good chances of getting PR because this year they want people with arranged employment because of increasing unemployment rate of newly immigrants in canada past year... go through the link i sent in my last post...

Hi Obaied,

I will be sure to share my experience.....please tell me how is it that you know that ECA (mark sheet evaluation) should be submitted with the application?

Please also note that you need at least a score of 6 in each area of the IELTS.

Thanks RAJE

For me it seems a challenge to get arranged Employment at this stage. Still if it not a MUST condition, and just a matter of points I still should file application.

Your opinions?? Should I file for it? I have already booked IELTS

Thanks Again

@ goapldutt

even i dont have arranged employment... i am a dentist... so unless i get license to practice i cant work in canada... i cant suggest u anythng... but yes u can certainely count your min and max points according to new point system and just decide where you lack points and from where you can get it.... i.e. if you lack points in work exp then you can cover those points in ielts... in short just make it 67....

Thanks so much for the inputs. I am qualifying based on the number system. My only concern is if its like a mandatory to have arranged Employment or something. I am getting something like 68 points, without arranged employment

Read the following link from CIC's gazette for all the proposed changes:

http://gazette.gc.ca/rp-pr/p1/2012/2012-08-18/html/reg2-eng.html

Dependents don't need to take IELTS. But, if they take IELTS and score at least 4 band in each category, it will give the applicant 5 points for adaptability. So, it's your choice to take it or not.

CIC has said in its website that they will not accept or respond to any query at this time from people that are not current applicants. Also, they have blocked phone calls from outside Canada. So, it's no use trying to contact them at this point. COntacting them is not going to help anyways because things they have already announced for the new FSW can be found in their website or other sources (like Kenny's twitter and this forum). Things they have not yet announced are well, not out yet, so noone can help us in that regard.

As for the job offer, as per Kenny's recent tweets, Job offer is not mandatory. But, if you have a job offer your application will be processed faster and if you don't have a job offer, your application will be processed after all the current backlog is cleared.

Hi Islandbabe,

CIC hasn't explicitly said that ECA needs to be submitted with the application. BUT, it's pretty clear that it will actually need to be submitted with the application. The reason is that ECA is required to evaluate the degree that you have. So, you can't just provide CIC with your transcripts and diplomas and claim points for your education like you could in the past. The assessment by ECA of your degrees is the only way you can claim points for your education. So, no ECA means no education points and a possible negative eligibility review. Think about ECA as similar to your IELTS results.
