Seeking Expert Opinion:

With our two kids, me and my wife intend to make a short landing in next Summer, probably June would be the best time for that. Afterwards, we will in sha allah move to Canada sometime in 2017 for stay.

Now, I have two questions regarding our first time short landing:

(1) As this will be a short landing, say for a week only, do I need to take the same amount of CAD that I have shown during application process for four of my family members??

(2) Can I take my bank certificate regarding the fund where equivalent CAD will also be shown by bank authority? As I am not moving for good in 2016, I dont want to cash all instruments.

Any help is much appreciated.

Regards

COngrats debashis bai,

Debashish Bhai, u can carry 7000 USD or equivalent per adult, and 3500 USD per minor. Are you unmarried that u are having to hide pof?

Alhamdulillah! Received PPR today.

Need expert suggestion.

1. We are expecting our second child in April. Now if I get my visa stamped, how much time VO might take to process the new family member ? I need to plan my landing accordingly.
2. How long they might take to stamp the VISA ? I've an offical trip on March'16, so will have to have the passport on hand by beginning of March. What do you think, will I get my passport back by then ?

Thank in Advance

No boss i am married. Both of us can carry 7000 each if we have a saarc country visa along with the canadian visa. If not, then we cannot carry more than 5000USD each. Thats why i am saying that. Because 10000usd is not enough for POF for two persons. But hiding is my last option. Hopefully i dont have to hide anything.

Thank you for your response. But don't you think its a little bit risky!! Is not there any other option accepted by canadian govt. to carry that much of cash. like bank statement from BD bank or opening a foreign account in Canadian bank to transfer money in there? Moreover, as much i heard , it' too much hassle in bd airport.

Debashish Bhai

Bangladesh bank increased travel quota

Saarc Equivalent to 5000 USD
Non Saarc Equivalent to 7000 USD

Talk to your banker again. They still are at stone age.

So, you and Bhabi can carry 14 thousand USD legally (that's equal to more than 16 thousand CAD I guess)

No Medical this week?

you can carry as much cash as you want in canada. There is no restriction from canadian govt. But, there is restriction from bangladesh govt. A bangladeshi citizen cannot carry more than 5000USD & 2000 other currency while travelling abroad. Its not flexible for immigrants also. Thats the law.

Also there is no way you can transfer money to canadian account from bangladesh.

my personal experience is not that bad. I have travelled a lot of times. Not a single time, anyone has asked me about the dollars i am carrying.

boss thanks for the clarification. I know we can carry 14000USD which is equivalent to almost 18000CAD. Its alright. But, my concern is if i want to carry more. Because, suppose i dont have any plan to come to bangladesh for the next two years. And, i want to carry15lac bdt which is equivqlent to 20000USD. Then what can i do?

Any Passport Request today?

Debashsish if u have two kids, they can carry 3500 each, so two adult and two child can take 21000 USD in total.

Anything beyond legal limit, u have to hide. Please make sure relatives are at airport to see u off. Incase u get caught, u can give the excess to relatives.

My gcms notes arrived early this morning.

It reflects file status of 23rd Dec, 2015.

File Location: Registry

That means no case officer was assigned to my file as of 23rd Dec, 2015.

My app submission date was 15 Dec, 2014. So even after one year of application, my file is accumulating dust!

Long live SGVO!
