I've just got emails from SGVO. The VISA office requests medical examination, RPRF and passports from me and my spouse. This news brings me joy and happiness. For those who's waiting, I think your turn is coming very soon. Be prepared and remain blessed. Cheers :)

Congratulations dear :)

can you please let us know your Nationality, NOC and the date of 2nd line update.

I think you can wait until you receive AOR as if you have an MRP passport then your passport number will not be changed if you extend its validity.

I've just checked on the Ecas. There's still no second line updated. It appears only one line. My nationality is Thai. The NOC is 0911. Any update will be posted later. Cheers.

Are you sure? What I know is Bangladesh (and maybe all) MRP passports cannot be renewed. You will get a new book (of course with a new passport number).. The expiry date for MRP is printed in the 2 lines (on the bottom of the biodata page) and these cannot be changed.

Endorsement of renewal (if it is really possible), won't be readable by the machine at immigration points because it will only read these 2 lines.

Seems you are very lucky enough. Congratulations!

In the passport request email, SGVO ask all passport to have a validity of minimum 1 year from the date you did your medical. So renew your passport immediately without delay because after your passport request you will get one month to submit your passport. When you are assigned with a new passport number immediately write a email to sgvo informing your new passport number and send a scan copy with it.

If you want to avail the max duration of visa, then I advise that you renew now. Once you get your new passports in hand, send updated info sheet to SGVO (after you receive AOR).
If you are ready to land before June 2015, then I guess it is fine, you can renew your passport from your country mission in Canada.

Below is the exact words from the letter sent from LVO asking for passports. It is not mandatory to have the passports valid for 1 year. Read point # 5.
Singapore visa office might be different. I am not sure. Someone who got PPR recently from SGVO can confirm this.

3. Passport Specifications
If any of the passports submitted do not meet the following specifications, all passports will be returned to you without visas. This delay will shorten the amount of time that you will have to travel to Canada to become a permanent resident.
1. All names and dates of birth must be printed in each passport in English or French.
2. The given name (first name) of the passport-holder must be clearly printed on the Given Name line of the bio-data page of each passport. The surname (last name) of the passport-holder must be clearly printed on the Surname line of the bio-data page of each passport. They should match your Updated Information Chart.
3. Your spouse must have their own passport. Your accompanying children should also each have their own passports.
4. Each passport must have at least two empty pages.
5. For your visas to have maximum validity, all passports should be valid for at least 12 months from the date of your medical examinations.
6. All passports must be intact and not worn, torn or otherwise damaged; the laminate on the bio-data page must be securely attached. Each page must be securely affixed to the passport; there cannot be any loose pages. Ordinary passports are the only type of passport into which a permanent resident visa may be inserted. Diplomatic, official, special or other similar types of passports are NOT acceptable.

Thanks for sharing the info, Dhaka2014.

You are right! Only hand written passports can be renewed. I have just talked to someone in the passport office and he confirmed this as well. MRP passports need to be reissued (passport number will be changed in this case).
