Raised a query with Manila VO last night regarding the status of my application and received a reply this morning from Manila VO as below:


Please note that your application was transferred to the visa office in Manila, Philippines for further processing.


Please be informed that the processing of this type of application is 18 months from the date of receipt or completed application or in your case from 31 July 2014. For more information on processing times, please refer to website: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm/skilled-fed.asp

In principle, VO officers are not supposed to give you a status if the process time doesn't exceed that mentioned in the link. In reality, I heard there are specific responses but I guess it must be because they are working on it at the time or at least know the timeline from their end. When an application is still in the queue and the officers are not sure (or don't want or don't bother to reveal) about the timeline, to be safe they should answer like that. This processing time is averaged out from a population of cases and surely there will be faster cases and slower cases there. Let's hope your case will be among the fast ones. In my opinion, 18 months (to be exact it should be 16 as indicated in the link) is not that bad at Manila VO. If it were SGVO, they would say 41 months and this answer would be quite demotivating, wouldn't it? Anyway, I read from CIC website that the general processing time has been significantly improved for FSW2014 and we should be happier now than we would have before. I think the average time on the web is just based on past years' data. We should be hopeful to be processed earlier. All the best.

Hi Seniors

I have one query regarding PCC. I have collected PCC form my nearest police station But i did not collect it from one stop service. you know in Dhaka we need to send application from one stop service. but i collect it from local police station , they did it within short time in emergency besis. just only 3 days. all seal and sign are their . is it ok ? plz give expert reply. i am worried..............
