I am working as testing engineer. I will be applying under 2173 NOC. I am waiting for ECA report. I will be able to apply by end of June. Do you guys think that it would be late?

hello everyone,

i'm have experience on device drivers for storage controllers and application programming in c, c++

my roles and responsibilities match with both 2173 and 2174.

please let me know which category should i apply 2173 or 2174

2173 Employment requirements states the following particularly point 1 below and point 2 related to licensing

1. A bachelor's degree, usually in computer science, computer systems engineering, software engineering or mathematics
or
Completion of a college program in computer science is usually required.

2. Licensing by a provincial or territorial association of professional engineers is required to approve engineering drawings and reports and to practise as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.).

3. Engineers are eligible for registration following graduation from an accredited educational program, three or four years of supervised work experience in engineering, and passing a professional practice examination.

4. Experience as a computer programmer is usually required.

Where as 2174 states
Employment requirements

1. A bachelor's degree in computer science or in another discipline with a significant programming component
or
Completion of a college program in computer science is usually required.

2. Specialization in programming for engineering and scientific applications requires specific post-secondary study or experience.


Question for experts 2173 also states Software Testing Engineer but when we look at 2283 that perfectly matches the Software Testing Engineer roles and responsibilties. So the question does Software Test Engineer fit into 2173 ? and what does licensing part mean for 2173?

I have over 9 years of IT experience developing software applications. In my current employment, i play the role of a Software Architect and my main duties include, Technical Design, Requirement Analysis, Development, Integration, Deployment and Maintenance of Software Applications. I also lead a team of
software developers for projects.

The main duties listed in NOC 2173 match exactly with my overall work experience, however it also mentions about the need for
"bachelor's degree, usually in computer science, computer systems engineering, software engineering or mathematics or Completion of a college program in computer science is usually required."

However my Bachelor's of Engineering (4 year) degree field of study is "Electrical and Electronics Engineering".. This is now throwing me off... is this mandatory or just illustrative?

DON'T WORRY ABOUT YOUR DEGREE. AS LONG AS YOUR JOB DUTIES MATCHES YOU CAN GO FOR 2173.

Hi,

I have some queries about FSW 2174... Can someone please help me here:

1) My possible NOC is 2174. However, since I have my experience in PHP-based development, most of my reference letters are showing "Web Developer" as a title of the job. Will this become a problem? As it may classify me in 2175 and lead to rejection..

2) One of my ref letters doesnt have Salary and No of Hours mentioned (though the Words "Full Time" is mentioned).. the employer has simply refused to put that in. Will a Salary Slip be sufficient along with this letter? or will it be rejected?

3) What is the length of Funds to stay in the account for Proof of Funds?

Hi All. I too am applying for the 2173 Code. Waiting for IELTS and ECA. ETA August 2nd week. Hope to put in papers 3rd week of August.
Hopefully, I can make it in the cap. So far, looks good!
