Hello guys.!!!

I have total 7.5 years of experience. First 4 years, I have worked as a Java/J2EE developer. From the past 3.5 years, I have been working as SVN admin, SCM (Software Configuration & Management) engineer. Also, from past 6 months I am working as Release Manager.

I really confused whether to apply under 2173 or 2174 !! ;( :( :(

Time is running fast.. Please help me with your valuable guidance.

Dude, you apply under the NOC for which you can get the relevant duties stated in your reference letter, simple as that. The clerical staff at CIC don't understand none of that stuff you listed, they are not subject matter experts. Their job is to match the duties listed in your reference letter against what is listed in the NOC list. So talk to your supervisor or HR, get your reference letter which should match your preferred NOC's duties up to 80% and move on with your application. Time is running out fast on both NOCS... 8)

4 years as java developer will give you enough material to write NOC for 2173.

Hello,
Hope you are doing great.
Today I got report for my educational documents assessment from ICAS. It says that
Comparable level in Canada: Master's Degree
My field of study was "Computer Engineering".

Can you please tell me, how much points I can claim? 22 or 23 ?

Best regards,

I have done 4 years of bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communication and also did M.S. Software systems from BITS pilani, part-time.

In the WES report, it says accepted for both of them and for M.S, it is mentioned as Equaivalent to Canada 4 years Bachelors Degree.

How many points will I get?

Thanks in advance for your reply.

Hi, see this from CIC website (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/EG7TOC.asp),

Two or more post-secondary program credentials AND at least one of these credentials is for the completion of a post-secondary program of three years or longer = 22 points

i am working as .net developer from last 4 years, my experience letter shows my designation is "programme analyst" and mentioned all responsibilities related to .Net technologies.

my questions:
1.)what is suitable noc code for me, i think i am suitable for 2174 correct me if iam wrong?

2) if i change to my designation to software engineer in my experience letter can i go with NOC 2173? if yes change the designation is enough or do i need to change any where in all other documents.?

thanks in advance

Title doesn't matter. With "programme analyst" if you write duties matching NOC 2073, it will be excepted. Also with title "programme analyst" if you manage to write the letter like NOC 2174 it will also work.

CIC is currently processing application from 7, 8 and 9th May. So you might hear from them in a month or two.
