2173 and 2714 are a bit similar but 2174 are much more into coding unlike 2173 it is more on the overall process of software development life cycle from planning up to deployment.

bro
go for 2173 as 2174 is the hottest one and it was open last year too.
those who missed last year chance got their docs ready in 2174
Avoid 2174
Best of luck

Hi,

My wife is in 2131 & I am trying for 2171. i have the following questions on work experience:

1. My designation in my company is 'Project Manager' but my responsibilities & duties are of a 'Business Analyst' in BI domain involving Requirement Gathering, Clarification, Client management, Scope Management, Conducting UAT, etc. Do I fall under 2171?
2. Is it fine if my employer writes my designation as 'Project Manager', but all my responsibilities of a BA.
3. In my current company I am working for 4.5 yrs. Is it fine if I provide the work experience format as desired by CIC for current company only & for other companies with only the relieving letter.
4. I can only submit by July end. Do I have any chance.

Can some seniors kindly reply to this.

Hi Guys,

I am applying under 2172 Category , and yes i got a bot late in finishing things up , My bad .. but is there a possibility for this NOC as of now , Considering its 2nd week of June .

Since all you guys are experienced, does anyone know about the trend for this NOC ?? ??? ??? ???
Go send your application asap! I think you'll still be in the CAP. Our NOC is not as hot as 2174/2173.

Can any one suggest if 2171 is for which I need to apply.

I have total of 10 yrs in IT industry.Of which beginning 4 to 5 years were as Oracle ERP analyst and last 5 years in Quality assurance like conducting internal Audit.I read the Main duties of 2171 which are also my duties. But the Employment requirements says computer engineer. And I am Electronics and Telecom engineer. So I can still apply under that NOC.
SOME OF THE DUTIES OF 2171
1.Information systems business analysts and consultants confer with clients to identify and document requirements, conduct business and technical studies, design, develop, integrate and implement information systems business solutions, and provide advice on information systems strategy, policy, management, security and service delivery.
2.Systems security analysts confer with clients to identify and document requirements, assess physical and technical security risks to data, software and hardware, and develop policies, procedures and contingency plans to minimize the effects of security breaches.
Information systems quality assurance analysts develop and implement policies and procedures throughout the software development life cycle to maximize the efficiency, effectiveness and overall quality of software products and information systems.
Is it too late to apply for that. Please advise.I will also hiring an agent so let me know if it is late or I can still apply.

Guys & Girls, This thread is exclusively for the IT people applying under 217 series. Lets clarify all our doubts here over the course of next 1 week.

Hi All,

Can some one help to classify NOC based on following :

- Collaborate on quality case creation for wireless devices using wireless technologies
- Execute cases, and provide regular, detailed status reports.
- Investigate and troubleshoot field testing issues.
- Coordinate with development engineers, support engineers and carriers in order to troubleshoot issues and implement solutions.
- Consult with and advise project management and development teams on technical issues.
- Develop process, procedures, and tools to aid field test automation, production operations, and maintenance.
- Collect and review user experience-based metrics, to detect problems before customers contact the business.
- Provide support to incoming product tickets including extensive troubleshooting tasks, with responsibilities covering multiple infrastructure and service components.
- Be the escalation point and mentor for other engineers in the team.

Product testing - mainly manual testing and customer support

Above role for 4 years 3 months

Current role - Senior QA Engineer - 7 months
Product testing and field test - user acceptance testing, manual testing, leading team of qa engineers

Above applies to 2171? Please suggest.

Thank you in advance.

2174 is very HOT NOC, if you can check 2173 with your roles and responsibilities you can submit under 2173 since 2174 has a lot of applicants I think but you can gamble it but less chance if you submit it on August.

I have sent my application on June 18 and it is yet to be delivered. It is lying in Ontario.

I applied for 2171 with 67 points.

Am I still in the cap as I am littl worried as I didn't see any cap updates for the past few days.

I believe you are still on the cap, good luck.

let me correct myself with the earlier post.

I applied with 69 points. Just now I realised that I typed wrong.

Ielts 8 8.5 6.5 6.5 (lrsw)

Age 36

Experience 10+ but claiming 5+ as it is direct match to noc 2171.

Wes positively with MCA from andhra university.

You can claim points for all your work experiences I think provided you submitted proof

I have submitted all the documents but what I felt that half of my experience comes to 2173 or 2174. Later my consultant clarified to claim half of my experience would be a direct match to 2171. And there are less chance that officer would deduct my points

As long as the 2171 experience is a one year continuous full time work and it matches around 70-90%, your are pretty safe.
