Hi all -
A (Taiwanese) friend of mine who has been sponsored by her younger sister received an email asking for additional documentation. Her parents are deceased, and she also has an older sister living in China now. She has been asked for:
1. Official hukou for herself and all her siblings. (Note: the younger sister is already a Canadian citizen; the older sister has no intention to move to Canada at all.)
2. Her deceased parents' cancelled hukou and death certificates.
3. New IMM5406 form
4. "Reliable proof" of her older sister's "current place of work and residency" (i.e. the sister who won't move to Canada).
Does anyone know what counts as "reliable proof"? We have sent a message to the visa office asking about this, but we're not confident of getting a reply on time.
In addition, she is presently working away from Taiwan, so is having trouble getting all these documents in the one month allowed by the email she received. Again, we've emailed back asking for more time (given the need to mail documents around), but we haven't heard back. Is this request for extra time likely to be something they approve or not?
Finally, how do I add the info about her timeline to my posts? I can't find the thing on the profile settings that does this!
Thanks, everyone!
