Hi all -

A (Taiwanese) friend of mine who has been sponsored by her younger sister received an email asking for additional documentation. Her parents are deceased, and she also has an older sister living in China now. She has been asked for:

1. Official hukou for herself and all her siblings. (Note: the younger sister is already a Canadian citizen; the older sister has no intention to move to Canada at all.)
2. Her deceased parents' cancelled hukou and death certificates.
3. New IMM5406 form
4. "Reliable proof" of her older sister's "current place of work and residency" (i.e. the sister who won't move to Canada).

Does anyone know what counts as "reliable proof"? We have sent a message to the visa office asking about this, but we're not confident of getting a reply on time.

In addition, she is presently working away from Taiwan, so is having trouble getting all these documents in the one month allowed by the email she received. Again, we've emailed back asking for more time (given the need to mail documents around), but we haven't heard back. Is this request for extra time likely to be something they approve or not?

Finally, how do I add the info about her timeline to my posts? I can't find the thing on the profile settings that does this!

Thanks, everyone!

I think payment stubs or salary slips or tax report or employment contract should be sufficient as reliable proof for her older sister's job.
Regarding residency, she can provide address proof from bank account, electricity or rent or house ownership.

Most likely this kind of request would be approved as long as you explain your circumstances and it is important to show your passion that you're working on it but just need more time.

Go to "Profile" >> Modify Profile >> Forum Profile Information

Best of luck ;D

Just got the golden PPR email! 8) 8) 8) 8)

Thank you guys for all your help. Gonna send my family's passports to Ottawa till the end of the week and hope for them to come back as soon as possible. What a year! :D

Anyone else got any news? It seems HKVO is working again.

Good luck!

Best of luck Grin

Thanks for the help, Waiwera! The information on the documentation and likelihood of time extension are really useful - I appreciate it!

(Unfortunately, I'm still having trouble editing my profile: the only option I can see under "Modify Profile" is "Account Related Settings." Am I missing something, or is it just because I'm new?)

Thanks again!

Hey, you're right. Your info will only be available after the tenth post. You could paste the timeline here for now until you get there.

no worries :D
I did asked for time extension before regarding police certificate as I was not sure I could collect all documents within 30 days.
HKVO replied me after 20 days and they let me have another 30 days. Fortunately, I could submit all documents within the time limit.
you can do this :D

as advised by @Heck, you can write your timeline manually here. in the meantime, post more comments in the forum so you can update your profile too. cheers ;D

Congratulations! You are almost there!

Anyone else whose application was filed in Dec. 2014 under FSWP ? Any updates?

Still very quite from HKVO...
submit my new address in Aug'15 -- not updated in ECAS.
submit medical report in Oct'15 -- not updated in ECAS.

Until today, only 2 lines show up in my ECAS:
Permanent Residence
We received your application for permanent residence on October 27, 2014.
We started processing your application on March 31, 2015.

Hope to hear great news really soon, HKVO ;D ;D ;D
enjoy your lovely weekend, folks 8)

anyone got 3rd line update last weekend? We submitted our FSW application in June last year with PER and AOR received in November 2014; since then we didn't heard anything from CIC at all. We tried to send 3 times online inquiry to CIC but only replied with standard answer "queue in processing".....

Our EACS only showed 2 lines with the third line update about AOR last weekend. But all this updates are back-dated information.

Anyone knows what happen or same case we are?

It's a good sign! It means that your case is now being processed seriously.
Relax and I believe you are going to receive Medical Request and other document requests shortly.

It took them about a month to update eCAS after I sent my medical info. I was beginning to get really worried, but then it got updated. Hold on, you should get good news anytime now ;)

Hi Guys,
Did anyone receive any updates recently?

There was a lot of good news lately, but seems slowed down again. Do we have any december applicants who received MR? I keep waiting...... :(

Congratulations to all those who got good updates!
