Hi zorroo,
Mine origin entry date is blank!
Thanks for pointing out wouldn't have paid attention otherwise.
Guess it's a thing to ask CBSA while landing or should I inform about this to CIC rightway?
TIA

Oh wait is it because of I renewed my passport and my older passport had the original record? That was way back as a tourist tho. But the UCI remains the same changing passport shouldn't matter.
Anyways do I need to carry my older passport with me too?

This original date of entry for sure does not matter for your landing and PR status and citizenship application right now. In case that rules for citizenship application change in future, still cic can check our UCI number and we have documentation to proof. however it is a good idea to carry old passports/study permit/work permit with you during landing not because of original date of entry. The officer may want to see it to make sure you have lived in canada legally before.

Legit enough reason. Thanks tho.

You are good to go for landing. Please share your landing experience with us later ;)
Also, it is not a bad idea to ask CBSA about this while landing.

If this is the case, which I agree with it, why does the original date of entry in copr matter? As I said earlier, when you apply for citizenship, you claim all the time which you have been in canada before and after landing and cic based on you UCI no. can evaluate it. So in case that citizenship rules change and we gonna be able to claim for our time stayed in Canada before landing for citizenship, we would be able to earn it regardless of original date of entry in copr (previous experience of members at borders tells us the same thing based on the officers answers).

You can request ATIP from CBSA and see for yourself. They make records of your entries and exits and then rely on it to assess your physical residence. That being said, I repeat that I want to have my documents in immaculate order and submit an absolutely clear file that will be easy to process.

But won't we all fall under current regulations regardless as they do not credit previous legal time in Canada towards citizenship? Any positive vibes towards reinstatement of older rules? Sorry I'm lagging on my political know how. I sure hope this book keeping should result in something good one day.
TIA.

IRCC Minister has a mandate from PM to reinstate the credit, so it's a matter of "when" and not "if". Until it's done, you get zero credit for days spent in Canada before granted PR status.

Thank you for the information diplomatru! You always have the right facts with you.

Guys by any chance any of you has used RBC bank balance certificate as a proof of fund for landing (beside 6 month statement)? Do we have to pay any fee for it?

CoPR received via snail mail on January 15, 2015 (I have a US passport, so no PPR)
I just called CIC to make an appointment and the agent informed me to wait 3 weeks more to receive an appointment invitation email and then call back if I don't receive it...now I'm thinking about driving down to Carway, AB since it sounds like the waiting process will not end if I try to get an appointment here in Calgary...

Go for the border landing. Even if BSO freaks out, it's your right to complete immigration in your way.

I'm in Alberta as well and I called them yesterday afternoon- the CIC agent told me to wait 8 weeks for them to send an invitation. I'm going to coutts border as soon as I can. Is landing even possible at carway? I can't see immigration option on their website as I can for coutts. Is there a reason you are preferring carway over coutts?

As diplomatru said and so did the CIC agent yesterday that the options of either CIC office or flag poling are for our convienence and we have every right to decide what works for us the best.

I've read on other posts where people have flag-poled at Carway--I just figured it would be closer to Calgary. I plan to do more research before doing the drive.
