Diplomatru, do you have any idea why the progress is slower for phd applicants comparing to rest of FSW-2014 applicants? It looks that even the file for phd applicants who have done medical examination 6 month ago is not in RFV yet, while this is the case for other fsw-2014 applicants! Any thoughts buddy?

Lol I think because the Phd applicants are ready to apply after two years of study and it takes a minimum of 4 to finish one here in North America. CIC people know that these guys will hang in there for sure no matter what for at least another 2 years so why prioritize them. These are the birds in hand.... Lol

Hi Guys,
I called yesterday the call center and I got hooked with a very cooperative guy ( which is a little rare) anyway, after checking my file status he told me that all my background checks are done but my wife and kids are still undergoing the security check which sounded a little bit weird for the children. Anyway, he confirmed that everything looks fine and the only thing I will be waiting for is DM and said its just a matter of time before I get the final result.
So lets wait and see.

No use to call them. But it is better for you to get some details at least. I just called them too and the agent checked my file (I doubt that) and told me the application is still in process. What was that! Of course I know it is still in process, but he didn't tell me any details. Just told me call back after Dec.30th. I guess it means no movement before that.

The only idea I got was that we should never get assured and relaxed till the moment we get the visa stamped on our passports :)

I know about a case when an applicant was rejected after being issued a visa.

That's true. It is just the first case that I see where they reject someone after medicals. First reported case at least.

That's something really strange. Maybe he was lying and they saw on his passport that he traveled to other countries and he didn't declare it on his application.

FSW3 stream invloves a more thorough background check.
