Not sure about the Health care card . MY friend didn't apply for that yet . I guess he will ,once he gets back .

Maybe someone else on the forum can help with that

Grace thanks for +1 but I am not sure what you interpreted from it..

What i understood from it is you don't need to have PR card for leaving and/or coming back to Canada

You can apply for travel document and leave and come back

If I willl leave Canada for Vacation that will be by plane, so I would need to apply for travel document... I would rader wait for PR than apply for documents and have stress again :)

Yes that would be safer

I know you would just want to avoid stress after you get PR ;D ;D ;D

Just checked guys..for people landing in provinces other than alberta .. you need to one of the health centers and apply for a health card whihc would become functional after 3 months of your landing in Canada.

Hi, Mary,

That is also my question.
My passport arrived Ottawa on May 04 and I saw DM on May 05.
Want to estimate the date when my PP back Vancouver.

Thanks

It took about 2 weeks :)

Hi Grace. Did I understand correctly that to avoid the hassle and/or stress of getting travel documents, you must wait to have your pr card before you can leave Canada for travel? :)

Yes MaryJane, to avoid stress of getting travel documents I prefer to wait for PR and than leave Canada and to to Poland to see family.

Hi,
so if i land and stay for around two weeks in toronto,I can still apply for a healthcard which should be mailed to my freinds address and will become active after three months??or do i have to be physically available in canada to collect it/make it active after three months.

How long have you been here in Canada Grace? I also plan on taking a vacation (a month more or else) to see my family in the Philippines :)

Ok, Egypt-Boy,

so laste email was Medical & Payment Request on March 2-nd

Per email MR (Medical Request) 60 days
March 2, 2015 + 60 days = May 1, 2015

:o now I worry :o

My MR email (received 17-3) says 90 days and not 60. So I guess I should expect RFV around 17-6.... :-X
