thanks for your quick response.how will the indian officials know(when u visit india) that your passport has been out from usa to canada in a courier envelope??
Also, i have read on multiple forums that if you have to send your Indian passport outside any country (even India) to a diplomatic office like embassy or a visa office , then its ok. Do you have any info on this?

Sorry for the late reply. I could not access the forum for the last day and half as it was saying server not responding.

I did what I felt was the right thing to do not because whether the Indian Govt will find out or not. I am not trying to be rude here.

I sent the email- twice at different times on April 22nd.

I got PPR on April 21st. I read here on this thread - page 136 that the Indian guy got email after 15 days directly from LA office.

I am still waiting for the response

Have a look a the below link. I think this topic is being over boiled and fear is being spread for little reason.

Hi,
Thanks for your reply. Its perfectly alright. Each one has a right to follow their own choice specially in such an important situation as immigration and sending your passports out of country.Frankly speaking i would have preferred the Los Angeles route myself had it been more streamlined by CPCO i.e. if they respond fast enough. But my only fear by going with that route is that i might end up wasting a month or so just waiting for their response.Anyway please keep us updated with your case.

Thanks again.

Just wondering..... Did any feb 1st week PER get MR from CPC-O? Did anyone of you call CIC call center on this issue?

I totally agree with you. I am not in a rush and if I don't hear from Los Angeles office in the next 20 days, I am sending my family's passports to CPC- Ottawa. I will have then have to worry about PR and NOT what the Indian Govt will say to me as PR is more important than pretending my Indian passport is auspicious to me

Have you been in Canada before?

Sure have, as a visitor only though. My wife did two summers there also before that back when she was studying at the university. My whole family has stayed there the past 3 summers and plan to spend this summer there again as well when the kids are out of school. Already have accommodations set up and all. I love it there. Can't wait!
