Why CPC-Ottawa doesn't issue MRs anymore ?!!!

Are you sure it was sent to Ottawa in the first place? In 2015 they added new VOs to manage the existing inventory.

I know once we get our application approved we should land in any province but Quebec. Once we are done with landing process can we work in Quebec though or is there a waiting period? ::) ::) ::)

Congrats bro for 3rd line. +1

For you Date of Original Entry should be the day you entered Canada on Student Visa as period before that wont really matter in any way.

Yes Diplo, I called the call center to be sure that my visa office is Ottawa

Is anyone here who would have recently done their medical from Calgary? I am getting Dr Grunberg for 16th April and my medical deadline is 28th. Anyone knows any other doctor who would upload medical fast?

Thank you

Hi all,

I hope your weekend went good.

As I keep progressing with my plan to conquer the world (a.k.a land in Canada). I have taken a step further that fits my needs (not necessary yours), but I wanted to share the idea in case it may be useful.

Today I open a TD bank account in the USA and another one in Canada (by phone - Canada account requires to show ID to activate), the good thing is that I will be able to perform cross border transactions at no cost and fairly easy. My original plan was to have both accounts open and transfer money to Canada right away, however, this is not possible due to Canadian laws.

Have an awesome week!!!

FYI,

Canada post is finally launching a new website to replace the old one that was not worthy of a First world country. They were supposed to finish the works at 12PM on Sunday March 29, but that's Canada, so delays are in place :P

This means that tracking information may be not available or/and accurate and your PPs may be acutally on their way back.

Stay tuned and check your mailboxes regularly.

You can. But it may become an issue when it comes to renewing the PR card or applying for citizenship. And this should definetely raise a red flag.

So, I did a routine call to CIC today. And the agent told me that: they have not reached the final decision yet.

If it is not a matter of wording, this could mean that all the assessments are complete and the application is in queue for final review by the Assistant Director of the CPC-O.

Don't worry, hopefully a final decision made awaits you.

Hi Diplo,
I thought this is true for people who have applied through provincial nominations only. The people who are getting FSW can establish themselves anywhere in Canada irrespective of what they filled at the time of application. Is my understanding incorrect?

Hi waitingforfsw,

The IMM7000 guide starts with the wording: If you intend to live in Quebec, you should apply under QSW stream.
Your COPR will say SF1-FED, hence if you decide to settle in QC, it would mean that you failed to fulfil the obligations under which you had applied for Permanent Residency.
