Does someone know how they calculate points for education? I studied for two years in Canada, yet my GCMS notes states that it's a foreign credential and give me points for only one year. How could that be?

Can you post a snap shot of that section?

Hi Everyone,

I just received passport request email. Do I need to send passports only or anything else is also required to send along with it(nothing else mentioned in email though)

If there is any other point I should consider please let me know that too. Also how much time it takes now days to get back passports. I am planning to land in May.

Thanks

came across this spreadsheet that tracks PR card status: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1_7qYhfEzM2k3cfHVX8z3EAOUCqHSeNRGZ7jKmmm6nN8/edit#gid=0

how can people apply for PR card before landing? :o :o :o i thought one can apply for it once they finish landing process ::) ::) ::)

according to CIC processing time for PR is 18 calendar days: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm-card.asp but it seems people are waiting for 2 months

Please share your timeline. if you are in Canada, I think you can send a copy of your valid resident permit along with your passport.

That was clever thinking which unfortunately I didn't do :(. Regarding passport, I guess you need to send just the passport.
Any one who has sent their passport kindly reply.

Congratulations +1 for sharing. I think you should send just your passport. It show CPC is working hard.

I have sent Original PCC & RPRF recepit by Ordinary mail (USPS) from US to CPC-Ottawa. Sent a follow up email with all scanned copies of these & conveyed medical appointment date.
Medical appointment is due next week & physician office confirmed to upload the result on same day.

What is next step from me to update the CIC about medicals ?
Does medical receive date recorded as the day when physican upload & CIC see or its when applicant send acknowledgement & CIC receive ?

Send your passport along with a print out copy of the passport request letter and send along with a prepaid return postal envelope...its all written under instructions. Concerning getting your passport back, you will have to wait till they are ready for you - but it usually takes within 5days to 3weeks for "visa issued" not passport received[/i]

Thanks Geotherm. I also understand that passports and copy of email are the only required docs, but if someone who have sent earlier can confirm it then it would be helpful.

My story is lil sad and happy. sharing it as it might give someone else hope. I applied in 2009 in some other category. It got rejected after an interview in 2011. My VO was New Delhi at that time. It was really bad time. but then I moved to US in same year and kept on hoping for this golden opportunity again. And when this process started, I also started preparing my application. Although I noticed many people were ready before that with education evaluation etc. It took me two months to get all the docs as I wanted to send everything at once. But then I had credit card payment issue. VO tired twice on Friday evening and it denied. Luckily he/she tried again on Monday and payment was processed. Finally on 18th December I saw processing started status and on 22nd I got medicals.

So yes it seems a short journey but it was really very long journey and fear to miss it made it more difficult. I already have my Green card in process. But still I would like to move to Canada as my family and friends all are there.

I am sorry for long content, I don't want to waste anyone's time but just felt to share it finally.

Again if someone can help me with this last step, I'll really appreciate that.
:D :D :D :D
success made you more humble :P
best wishes

Alf Mabrouk.

To give you an update about sending passport here is what i decided to do.

I have sent an email to Canadian Embassy in Cairo (along with a copy of the Ready for Visa email) at following addresses (cairo @ international.gc.ca, cairo-cs @ international.gc.ca) asking them if it is possible to print the visa in Cairo office. I am patiently waiting for their reply within 2 weeks period.

If i do not get a feedback i will go with plan B and send the passports to Canada and get them delivered to a relative there.

Please advise if you found another option.
Allah yebarek feek :)
I have sent my passport to my relative in Canada, but I prefer not to wait for two weeks, make them only one and if they didn't reply go for Plan B, remember you only have 30 days to submit the passport

I'm trying to do a print-screen/copy of it but that's not working. My phone camera is not good either. It's basically the notes under schedule 3 on Canadian Education Credential, "No" was entered and assessment of Foreign Education "Yes".
