Canada is great!

Congrats Ciscoguy. I hope you just went to Canada and returned back to US. Could you share your experience please specially what you are saying "Canada is great". I am in US too and may be getting passport sometime by the first week of March. I am in a dilemma what to do. I am in H1 and invested about 7 years in US. I am fed up with this H1 but scared to move elsewhere and start from scratch.
Hi xxCISCOxx,
Congratulations. (Canada is lucky to have you... :p)

Did you move permanently to Canada?
How did you find accommodation in Canada? Did you make accommodation arrangement before you land in Canada?

Hi immigrantUSCAN,
Where do you think USA is better than Canada?
I am on L1B, Company is applying L1A (through which I get GC in one year)
Still, I am planning to move to Canada because of plenty of reasons. (In fact, our forum members can give clarity in this aspect. Don't be in dilemma. Canada PR is your baby and result of your one year consient struggle and effort. Make use of it.

regards,

Have any October applicants (CPC-O) received MR yet? The folks who had their files transferred from NDVO seems to be ahead of us here.

Hey guys ,

Just a small doubt with CoPR letter's - We received 2 copies of CoPR letter's for each member in our family.
One CoPR copy is having a photograph attached to it and the second copy is exactly the same but with no photograph.

Is this normal ? Or photographs should have been attached to both copies of CoPR letter ?

Query on making Dependents as "Accompanying"

Hello!

Have a query around making my Dependents as "Accompanying" - At the time of filing, I had made my 2 dependents are "Non-Accompanying", however now I need to make them as "Accompanying Dependents" - can anyone share any inputs around if that is possible at this stage or not? Having said that, we have already completed Medicals for all 3 of us and have had the 3rd line updated as well. Presently, we are still waiting for the final hurdle of FBI PCC which will take another couple of months.

I read it somewhere that if the application is before "Decision Made" stage, Dependents can be added, not sure if I can make them accompanying as well at this stage. If Yes, can someone pls guide me in the right direction and the steps involved as part of it. Any help will be highly appreciated.

Thanks!

Lol,
each member get 2 COPR's.

One is candidates copy -- It does not have photo
Other one is CIC copy to be submitted at port of entry - It has a photo affixed.

read the complete COPR documents (top to bottom) and other supporting documents you received along with stamped passports.

Thanks Man !!

Searched for any details on this but could not find anything specifically related to it, may be I missed it completely.

Even though one copy is for us to keep for records after we finish our landing procedure - I was not sure whether
that copy also should contain a photograph...Just wanted to clarify it because if we know something wrong with it,
I can arrange for the photograph from here itself rather than messing it up during our landing.

Thanks for the clarification on this..

Hi pssreddy25,
I have talked to couple of people and they have been saying that compared to US its hard to find job in Canada. My NOC code is 2131. As far as I know education is better in Canada and is social benefits but I have been hearing that it is not that easy to find a job. If I had green card I think I could have got better job here in US but this H1 gives oppurtinity to the employer to exploit the employee. Furthermore, my wife is not in technical field but has OK job here in US. I don't know whether she will find job there or not. I have seen that people with technical degree always find something wherever they go but people with other degree I am not sure. I do not want her to ruin her career for me. That's why I exploring more.

Hi immigrantUSCAN,

I agree with you for non technical fields, it is really difficult to find job in canada.
Finding a job in Canada wihout certification is also difficult.

Anyways, of you want to use your PR in future, you can use it any time.

Here are my suggestion based on you situation:

In that case, dont bother about the Canada option at this point. When you are doubt, Dont do it.
Shifting both of you to Canada (When both of you have jobs in the USA) may not be a wise decesion.
More importently, moving to Canada is not needed for you at this point of time sicen you have a valid VISA status.
If you want to really move to canada, you can make some back ground work, improve network in Canada do some certification and shift to Canada down the line.

I understand, once you have PR, we tend to think more towards Canada. That creats unnecessary headache and confusion.
