Hi all soon to be canadians, I hope someone can help me. Is it possible to do medicals now without the MR request? If yes, how?and how am i/hospital supposed to send it after?

Thanks much!

You can get medicals done for your personal purpose, but you cannot submit results to CIC without MR request. When I went for medical tests, they asked me for IMM forms which were sent by CIC when I got MR request. They verified all details online and then performed tests. So, when you go for medicals then your details should be available to doctors online. That's my understanding.. others might have other opinion.

You don't need IME form to do medicals. The doctor will create UMI file and upload the results online. When CIC sends MR you should request them to link your IME with UMI on patient information form. Voilà.

I believe there is something called upfront medicals.
You can go directly to panel hospitals and ask them directly to go for upfront medicals. You do not need to have any MR. Just your passport and some photos as well, of course with some money.

There is someone here did that with Ottawa VO, Once he got his PER, he went for medicals directly. Then after a while he received he PPR directly.

Photos are not necessary. eMedical medical examinators are required to make a digital photo during test.

That is correct, I have gone through emedical, and they did not ask for photos, but still few panel hospitals undergo traditional one.
Best for anyone to check first with the hospitals, if not possible bring some photos as a plan B.

Thank you guys for your information. I think its not the usual case though but you can send the passports to two different visa offices for stamping.
I have found this forum.

http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/visa-stamping-at-other-office-t187037.1110.html

There are many of them who have done the same thing (sending their passports to one visa office and the other family passports to different visa office though you need to mail the request to CPC and they will send you an additional passport request for a new visa office).

Hope it will be really helpful for all of us.

Mikey, I have an idea how you must feel. And trust me, I'm trying to chill out. It just makes me mad that I chose another road. Have you asked for your GCMS Notes? There must be something very specific they are checking for your file to be so delayed. Hope you get your PPR within this week. God Bless!
