I see lot of updates about landing in Canada/ crossing the border to get the PR... I'm expecting my passports back this week and planning for Feb end visit to Canada.. Initially I was considering to take a flight to Toronto, but I guess crossing the border by road is easier... Could you please address my below questions?

- I'm in CA, USA...Is there a way I can take the road option from Seattle? If so, what is the name of the place where I'll cross the border?
- Will they return back the passports immediately? I'm planning to give my friend's address in Toronto for sending the PR as I have to come back to US and settle stuffs before I can move to Canada? I'm on H1B visa..
- How long should I stay in Canada? If there is no restriction, I'd come back the next day itself or even the same day.

Anyone else from West coast planning the same?

Is there any way to know when my visa is stamped on passport before tracking starts ?

And also I need my passport within 2 weeks and CPC-O received it on Monday. Do you guys think it will be delivered by then ?

I attached a cover letter saying I need the passport within 10 calendar days since I need to travel outside the country in 2 weeks.

Its called Flagpoling - here is some information ( please search for up to date info - i dont know how updated this is but it will give you a general idea )

http://www.visatalk.ca/flagpoling/

I had emailed both CPC-O and the general CSE if they have received my medical results, and today I got a generic response for the CSE:

Sir, Madam,

Thank you for contacting Citizenship and Immigration Canada. I am pleased to follow up on your request:

We verified the information you provided and can confirm that your application is in process.

If further information is needed, the responsible office may contact you.

It provided enough information as the eCAS.

Seems like a response from question @ cic
How long did they take to follow up?

14 days... But as you can see they provided no useful information.

Yes, it seems like question @ gc can only help as much
I've sent queries both to this address and cpc-ctd. The latter id might generate more feedback but they don't necessarily reply =(

I got the Visa stamped and CPR back through canada post today... There were no updates for the last 2 days in both Canadapost and USPS but I got it back fine.. I have one question

They did not stamp Visa on my Kid's US passport... Is it required for a US Passport to have Canada Visa stamped or can they just travel with the US passport.. They sent the CPR for my kid though...

No. US citizens have a visa waiver.

Given your timeline, the wait must be really tough on you.
I can relate!

I wish that CPC-O processed applications in the order received.

Hopefully, we'll all get some good news soon.

Hoping me and you get some good news soon buddy :)
