If you applied before January 1, 2015:
Your application will be processed under the rules in place at the time you applied.
Find out how long it will take for CIC to process your application.

f you applied before January 1, 2015:
Your application will be processed under the rules in place at the time you applied.
Find out how long it will take for CIC to process your application.
If you applied on or after January 1, 2015:
Our goal is to process most complete applications received under Express Entry in six months or less.
We currently only have processing times for people who applied under the old system.
Processing times tell you how long it took Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) to process applications in the past. Since Express Entry is a new system and not enough applications have been received yet, processing times are not available but we have committed to process applications in six months or less.

I said that CIC announced that all applications which have been received before 1'st Jan.,will be under FSWP. That means it will not be shifted to EE program

Therefore, no need to be worried

This means in CPC-O context: EE in 6 months, FSW after 2010 in 25 months. Even while waiting for PPR. I am seriously thinking to get my sibling apply for EE also. As such 25 months can be wrong also since most fsw 2014 cases are processing quickly

My two cents on what jobinj1 has what speak out. It is in general true that immigration
From jan1 2015 is changing to “Survival of the Fittest” instead of “Coming in line with minimum criteria”.
Relatively Weak candidates may or may not get invitations. Even after invitations, CIC can reject their
Applications at any stage. Unfortunately the work experience gained outside Canada is now good for
nothing as per EE points criteria
Now on FSW 2014 cases. These will be low priority cases from next year. We see this happening
in 2008 also. People waited for many years while new skill criteria people were getting visas.
But still we have 3 months' time before EE candidates start getting MR requests. So hopefully
before that we all will get PPRs.. Cheers Everyone
Well said. +1

True jobinj1.

I agree with you to some extent that
1) EE may slow down the present FSWP 2014 process
2) people should have backup plan to apply unedr EE. (Dont relay too much on present processing)
3) never ever quit your job, as soon as you get your PER (Dude some times, it may take years to get PR VISA, this bitter but true)

on the other hand
1) EE also has the same limitations (CAP limits) as FSWP has. As a reason, EE can accept applications only fall under CAP limits per category.
2) CIC clearly specified that - all applications erceived by dec 31st will be considered towards FSWP 14 and processed as per the guidelines.
3) as CIC lost one lawsuit for FSWP 2008 candidates, hopefully it will not repeat that mistake of holding applications for years again.
4) CIC also planing to clear all FSWP 2014 backlog by end of 2015.(On their web site)

However,

Hope for best, and always have backup plan.
+1

You get a auto reply email as soon as you send email to CPC-O. Make sure you read and.include what it asks for. All details should be checked to expect a reply.

You are reinforcing my thoughts on how this is going to play out now. We are going to compete with Express Entry candidates and/or with each other. Let me put down what I think is happening:

Applicants to the FSWP program will no longer be processed in the order the application was submitted. We are being ranked based on our eligibility. CEC, PNP and applicants with job offers receive the highest ranks, just like in EE. After a certain number of applicants have completed the MR stage, CIC will draw a few of the highest ranking candidates and issue them PPR-s. Then the rankings start again as more applicants pass MR. After a certain period of time, the next set will receive PPR-s. I already see evidence of this happening. Some people, who submitted applications later, have randomly got PPR, from the same visa office. PPR will now come out in bursts, not in a flow or sequence.

If you are with me so far, let me give everyone the bad news. This means some of us will never get a PPR, if we remain at the bottom of the ranking list. There is no point in looking at the SS trying to analyze when your turn is going to come. It's over for many of us.

No, that is absolutely not my point and not the way CIC processes applications. To counter your point, for CEC applicants, the average time between MR and PPR is anywhere between 1 month and 4 months, which is about the same for current FSW applicants.

There hasn't been and won't be any ranking between FSW applicants that applied before express entry. It is absolutely true that whenever new program begins, the processing time for older applications increase. So the FSW 14 applicant will be lower than express entry candidates in priority, but it is ABSOLUTELY not true that CIC will somehow rank the current applicants and only give PPR to a chosen few. Issuance of PPR will depend on when the security checks and medical evaluation gets completed.

All being said, there is no need for panic. FSW14 is already the fastest FSW in the history of CIC, so a couple months wait isn't too much in the grand scheme of things.

Dear Friends,

I am a May 30th applicant under FSWP. I have a deadline of January 7th to send FBI PCC, Indian PCC, Medicals and RPRF Fee. I have arranged for everything except FBI PCC.

My application for FBI PCC reached on September 30th and till date have not received any response. FBI Customer Service says it will take another 2-3 weeks plus time for delivery. I have read on this forum that CPC-Ottawa is granting extension for 30 days. I have submitted a e-mail query to CPC-Ottawa today. As with some of the other folks who have not received any response from CPC-O, I may not hear anything until Jan 7th. What would you all advise? Should I send RPRF Receipt and Indian PCC and a letter explaining the FBI PCC Situation so as to avoid missing the deadline.

Thanks.

Dear friends,

I sent an email to CPC email address and another one using Case specific inquiry about confirming the receipt of documents(PCC,RPRF, other info) that sent to them 10 days ago.I got a reply directly from CPC email address in 10 days and I got another one in 20 days( the one that i used the case specific inquiry).

In the first one they simply said they received the documents and they updated my file but the in the second one that I received 10 days after the first one was the following:

"We hereby acknowledged receipt of your email. Please note that your application appears nearly completed. It is presently in queue for a final review. We will be in contact with you to advise on any further actions that may be required on your part."

SO I DO NOT THINK CPC WILL TERMINATE CURRENT APPLICANTS AND IF THEY WOULD, THEY WOULD SIMPLY SAY SO IN THEIR RESPONSE

So,I think CPC works in either:
1- they want to complete all the applications until December 31 with MRs because its time consuming process( in addition the majority of CPC applicants needs FBI report which takes alot of time)then they will work all PPR which is not a time consuming process. OR
2- They will process MRs for applicants until very last few days of the year then work on PPR which gives time during the holiday to applicants to send their passport to CPC.

Again these are just my thoughts

:)
