Good Morning All,
I landed at peace bridge yesterday. It was a very smooth experience.
It is true that Canadian officers are more friendly than US officers. However, U.S. Officers were professional and did their job quite well.
I landed as FSW with arranged employment. But the officer still asked me for proof of funds. I could've maybe explained I am exempt but I took my job offer/ pay stubs/ bank statements etc. she asked to see either one of these three documents. She merely 'sighted' them. So, if you have been working in Canada, take pof docs with you.
The whole landing procedure took about 15 minutes. Mine was not anything different to what people have already said.
Standard questions .. Crime/ felony/ dependants not declared...
She then filled up the CPR's and returned them to us. She explained the rights of PR's and how to travel anywhere else except USA until PR card comes and we were done and on our way back for dinner at St. Catherine's.
If at all possible, I'd recommend peace bridge for landing purely based on my positive experience yesterday. Oh, and $ 3.75 at the exit toll gate on canada side to come back in ... Notes accepted but change is handy.
That's all I got to say.
Thanks all ... diplo/ grace/ bat001/ Goku and the many others that contribute to this forum. Perhaps we must open up an 'online' immigration consultancy. We could be making a lot of money.
I have always been silent on the forum and will be, but if you have a question, pm me and I will surely respond.
All the best in your journey towards permanent residency in canada.
