My PER was issued on 3rd December 2014 and my 2nd line update was recieved today. does that mean that the background checks are over.

should I expect the MR request in couple of weeks. my visa office is New Delhi.
I can't comment on whether or not your background checks are done. But on an average, MR request follows the ECAS update by 10-12 days.

Thanks brother for appreciating. +One to you as well..

It is very possible to seek employment opportunities prior to your landing. If you ever applied online from your home country, send your resume's and other relevant docs to their company emails. If you have been fortunate enough to be recognize by that certain employer, just advise him/her that you already got the PR Visa and the probable landing date so you can be available for the interview. Some Companies also can asked you for a skype interview if their really interested. Should be likely recommended to start your job hunting when you got the PPR i believe. To have more leverage.

Below are some of the most visited sites for jobs in Canada, got this from another member.. Hope this helps

I have read a post relevant to MR issuance from the global thread. Some of them mentioned a term BFD - "Bring Forward Date". Practically means, that when VO receives our files from CIC NS. They have been stamped with this BFD. For example, your file got PER on November, more or less local VO received it on the month of December. They will have a BFD of somewhere around Feb or March or even later. It was mentioned that it's a standard protocol for the processing.

Most of the time VO officers will likely touch your file on the said BFD. Prior to this date, it will sit on their waiting list. They have also highlighted that background & criminality and other checks don't take that long.

These info's were obtain from applicants' GCMS notes.

So we can assume, the more applications received in the VO office the more likely later BFD's are assigned accordingly.

In short, still Patience is recommended. Darating din tayo dyan..

Hey guys, wanted advice from you.

I read on several places that CIC is checking the LinkedIn accounts of applications.
My account has not been updated for more than 2 years, so instead of spending time to update it with the recent info, job position and certificates I decided to make it inactive from the public in case CIC check it and there is no info about my current job position and they get confused or suspect something.

Do you think it is wise not to have linkedin account or moreover is it positive if they can check our LinkedIn account and everything checks there i,e all the job descriptions are the same with the one on the applications.

Yes bro.. There have reports that some CIC staffs have viewed applicant's LinkedIn accounts. I believe it's one of their reference that they can check your background.

and also Yes, you may deactivate your account completely. It's your personal account and choice as well.

My second line was updated on 20th Jan but still no notification for MR. My NOC is 2171. Anybody aware what was the last date from this NOC who got the MR?

I know I can deactivate the account, I was just wondering if it will be worth it to complete it fully in accordance with my application in hope they will check it and verify that everyting is in order?
Do you thing it might do any positive impact?

I believe they check it to assess if they are accurately in comparison with your application. If you wish to make it active, i suggest that you try to update your profile to show your current status.

I remember reading someone's post and reported that there was an applicant who was asked to go for an interview, and highlighted this LinkedIn account thing. If i remember it correctly, he was an FSW2013 applicant. Due to his account stating that he was doing some part time work as a lawyer for which he never mentioned in his PR application. He then confirmed that he was doing such but did not bother to indicate in his file.

I did not know the outcome was. But the reality was they may find some discrepancies and will eventually may require some explanations.

That's just my opinion bro.. Hope it helps ;)
