Hi guys,

Just wanted to clarify something. When you pass your medicals, the processing of your application will be out of Bucharest Office hands and all they can do is wait to get clearance on the security verification part from external parties.

If it happens that you traveled a lot, or that you are from certain nationalities or combination of both, or if you served in the army or even if your name is similar to someone of the "red list", the security clearance will take longer than usual.

All I can say is that you hang in there and be patient. It is a waiting game now and if you have been a good citizen and have not participated in any thing of concern you will definitely get the clearance. (I TOTALLY understand that the "hang in there" part is easy to say and hard to follow, but remember we are all together in this and we are here to support each others).

BEST WISHES TO ALL OF YOU, AND SEE YOU SOON IN CANADA :D

'Normal' processing time for Bucharest VO - 21 months. And they say they will not reply to status inquiries which have not exceeded the processing time. Anyone help me with the right word for this? Humiliating?

Stormy,
in russian there are more appropriate words for it, but unfortunately all of them are unprintable)
talking seriously, it is perplexing why CIC doesn't pay attention on the discrepancy in "Normal" processing period in different VO. For example, in Warsaw or Kiev the EFFECTIVE processing period is 8-10 months and in Bucharest it is much longer because they are constantly overwhelmed with applications. So why shouldn't they just add up more staff to BUcharest VO.
