Yes you can do that. But it is important to stay in canada for 1095 days (3years) out of 5 years to qualify and remain as permanent resident. As a permanent resident you can sponsor your child but again you can do that only after three years of stay which qualifies you as a Permanent resident. Regardless you have PR card.
Because you also need Tax documents to prove your income to sponsor your family member. So that gona be again lots of paper work and that was the time when one need to concentrate on future.
Where as you can have free medical as PR, give birth to a child and enjoy the government benefits.

Thanks for the prompt reply... we will discuss regarding your points.. all the best for ur process...

Once you land, you are a Permanent Resident. Yes, it starts from the day you land, even if you don't have the PR card in hand.....but please keep in mind, for re-entry, you do need the PR card.

Can a relative of our get PR card on our behalf and get it along while coming india or any other way to get PR card if we were not physically present in canada

Receiving your PR card on your relatives address and bringing it along to India by your relative should not create any problem.

Dear all,

My wife's chest x-ray showed a minimal scar at the upper corner with both radyologist's and the physician's comment of "no furtherence needed".
She had no history of TB.
I was afraid of request for additional test. Today my ECAS status changed to "we received your medical results".
Does it mean we passed the medical stage?
