Dear All,

What the trend followed by the concerned department. is their any specific period within which we have to receive PER

No, I don't think so. Because your's would be a domestic savings account, hence though you have the funds they are not readily available.

A lot depends on how the immigration officer will perceive it. However best not to take chances.

Check with SBI if you can have a Currency account in CAD.
Such an account allows you to receive and move money in CAD.

Best would be to carry a combination of CAD Cash/Traveller's cheque /Cad bank account statement.

In one you your earlier post you mentioned can't open CAD account till you land why?
Check out the Start right program of Nova Scotia. Also HSBC has something similar for new immigrants, not sure of the name though.

Please write your question clearly.

Do you need to submit POF when applying or Do you need POF while landing?

In first case you can show bank amount in INR. But in second case, you have to take money or draft etc, with you to Canada.

You can claim/inform then any amount which you have planned to carry to Canada in future when your first landing.

Thanks NEWIN , I will not be able open canadian bank account without having canadian residence proof. Can you suggest some other alternative.

Dear jaideep, you can open your account with Scotia Bank in India, after you receive your visa. You can deposit up-to 50,000 CAN $ max. Your account will become active when you land in Canada. Visit www.scotiabank.com/startright
You can also contact your nearest Kotak Mahindra Bank, they will assist you......as they have a tie-up with Scotia Bank.

There are several options.

Check HFDC Bank in india, you can open an account.

You can make bank drafts or travelers check simply.

I have planned to make bank draft as I am in Qatar, no HDFC bank
Thanks a lot NEWIN ..... :) :)
