Hi Guys,

I need some advice;

I have a situation here that my brother has received his CPR and visa recently, and he is ready to come along in early April to Canada. Along with his passport and visa and CPR, we received a generic letter, which talks about you have to let the CIC know about any family composition changes before you become PR. Now, he is planning to get married in late March to a girl that he was engaged to. Does he needs to inform CIC now about his future plan and will this delay him of coming to Canada (meaning like he his wife has to submit her immigration forms, PCC, medical etc.). He was initially planning on coming here establish himself for few months and then apply to sponsor her.

Thanks,

He should inform cic after the marriage but before leaving, and get all documentation done and submit. I have learnt on the forum it is very difficult to sponsor at later stage. So it is better to inform cic before he become PR. In my view it won't effect his travelling but spouse will have to wait untill the process for spouse is complete.

Please wait for more advise from seniors.

Good luck

in my opnion, your brother should complete his landing formalities first, get hold of PR card . As he had not added his wife in his intial application and getting visa means Decision made and case closed. So his wife need to apply in sponsered category which gonna take 1 to 1.5 years to get her visa according to latest trends

hope it helps

Sponsoring someone is not an easy task. First of all, one has to be PR for at least 5 years to be able to sponsor someone. Secondly, Canada has a huge backlog for family sponsorship and processing time is much longer than than immigration process.

I would rather advice that he raises a CSE informing his VO that he is planning to get married this year and ask them if there is any possibility of adding his wife before completing landing formalities. However, if there is any such possibility, it is very likely that there would be some delay.

PPR - 27th Feb
DM - 2nd March

My DM came only today- 2 days after PPR email!

Hello guys.. Please check the below mentioned documents which I need to submit to NDVO for MR :

1) Request Form mailed by NDVO
2) Proof of completion of MR ( That should include medical bill ? or anything else ? )
3) My wife's X-Ray Defferal form
4) Photocopies of passports (me and my spouse)
5) RPRF ( Rs. 53400 DD payable at New delhi and Payable to receiver general for canada )

Please let me know if any thing I am missing?

And These documents should be couriered to

Immigration Section

Should I send hard copies to the Warsaw Visaoffice or to the Central Office in Canada?

Hi Pavel,

You will need to raise a CSE to seek extension for the medical tests to be sent, though the medical centre might have internet facility, if they delay uploading your medicals it might badly affect your file.

In this CSE attach a scanned copy of the PCC, Biometric pages of your passport, and POF and send the hard copies of these by post too.

Hope this helps.

Ask your brother to inform visa office immediately and what are he steps involved to add his fiances name in his application. A similar case had happened earlier where the guy got married after receiving his visa. He did inform the visa office but went went ahead with his landing without changing his marital status. On reaching there his visa was cancelled and was asked to apply gain.
