You can do following things before you apply :

1) Apply to Experion and get your credit history details;
2) Check if any debt collection agency has been appointed for recovery and if so, that should be there on your experian report;
3) Check if they have initiated any legal recovery ( Highly unlikely as your friend has travelled to another country, so they might not go in for this ) but check it

If there is no debt collection agency and no legal case filled, there is no risk, though ask him to approach all those agencies and settle the payments for his own interest;

If there is any debt agency appointed/legal case filled , then approach them and hire a debt resolution agency and settle your debt and get your records cleaned.

Hope this helps. If nothing is worked out, then this might create negative credit history in Canada if the debt agency is an international one and they locate the identity. So its is good to clear these issues through a settlement mechanism, even if their demands are undue, you can always fight through debt management agencies there.

Thanks for the reply, I suggested this but he is worried he'll have to pay in pounds from INR which is like 100rs = 1Pound and he cannot afford it.

Apparently his contract bill is way too much including debt recovery.

Usually a company will not get involved in legal process as the recover cost could be higher than the outstanding amount.

Why credit history is not a hindrance in my opinion is because the same can be a result fo wilful/erroneous actions.

Background check mainly covers the validation of the documents provided by us (education, POF & JD vs NOC applied). If VO is satisfied that's it else a field verification gets initated.

Received MR half an hour ago. The 4 of us have been issued separate UCIs. Have been given 30 days to submit the results. RPRF and PCC requests were not received with MR. Is that normal?

Dear Sridhar

Once medical is submitted it is accessed by Visa officer and if any doubt is there they ask for a particular retest (Mostly TB and chest related issues) If its OK then 3 rd line is updated. If the medical facility is emedical then process is quick and one gets the 3 rd line of update in 9-14 days . So i advise u to wait for this week and if there is no update then contact ur hospital by monday.

One thing to ask , if there is any issues in medicals how do we get to know ... only from the VO is it .. how much will it take

Also, hospital has cleared my file saying everything is fine for blood urine and xray. So is it all fine or do they dig in to the medical history even though these are all normal.

Guys i have done my medicals from max hospital mohali on 03 Feb

Still no third line update

Really worried

Ask the hospital if they had uploaded the medicals or not ?

Expected time to 3rd line update is 1-2 weeks

Hi Everyone,

Finally received MR for myself and my family yesterday. Though I was expecting to get request for PCCs first it worked the other way round. Anyways glad to see progress being made.

Admins - Can you please update the status on the SS.

Thanks and tip to all the LVO folks waiting specially from May and June. Don't get upset, I am pretty hopeful that you guys would get updates by end of March or Mid-April at the latest.
