CIC Finally announced its 1st Express Entry draws.

Number of invitations issued :779
CRS score of lowest-ranked candidate invited :886 points

This round of invitations included Express Entry candidates from the Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program, Canadian Experience Class and Provincial Nominee Program.

This clearly shows they won't entertain candidates without an arranged employment or PNP.

Good Luck to all candidates like me !!!

Looks like the first draw is of people with a valid job offer in Canada or a provincial nomination. Am not sure how one can reach beyond 400 Points without job offer or provincial nomination. Am gonna study the points system tomorrow again.

starting of a new day n prayers n wishes for PPRs n DMs.... God help us.

Wishing the same. Now patience has reached its limits. I just pray that atleast all may applicants start receiving ppr on a daily basis from today on.

My application filed May 8, 2014
Medical received status updated Oct 7, 2014

MY ANALYSIS ON SHIFTING OF VO
Actually, a number of applicants are reporting AOR (the kind of mail received by drpjs) from a Visa Office other than their home country VO. At this time, all such cases are being reported for cases which should have been dealt by NDVO.
Now, this is a new development. I think this is a deliberate decision by CIC, as the new generic form after 01 December 2014 does not ask for the applicant to ask for a specific VO.
Also, it is seen that this decision of nominating a VO is likely being taken at CIC CPO Sydney, NS after giving PER. This decision is likely being taken seeing the workload with the applicant's home VO and the file is being shifted to nominated VO for processing. This may work as most of CIC work is online. However it is to be seen if PPR would be asked by Nominated VO or Applicant's home country VO.
Applicants need not worry too much - as CIC is already following procedure of NOMINATING VOs other than home country for applicants of some countries eg Pakistanis are getting LVO.
In fact, there might be a silver lining. Only apparently straight forward cases might be being shifted out of the country, whereas likely complicated cases should likely be kept with home country VO.
TREAT THIS as a case of INTERNAL OUTSOURCING BY CIC. :)

waiting still, God Willing my CC is Charged today.

but one question came to my mind.
1. Canada is way behind us on the Time front (is is usually opposite as when its day here its night in Canada)
2. When a CC is charged usually the CC company calls for a verification. when will the call happen.
3. and if someone tries to charge today but the call is confirmed tomorrow how does CIC know that the charge is approved.

I don't know which doc said that there is very minimum percent of risk for developing baby if mother goes under x rays..........I think that was not even a doc.

seriously......the damage is done at cellular level.......don't put the life of upcoming in danger by doing x rays......x rays are not recommended by docs for pregnant women. please take serious advice from some professional....don't do it just for sake of saving some months. get help on this thing before proceeding, it can become a regret of lifetime!

Hi,
I would like to add my opinion to those who are pregnant and need to get xrays fine if the chest area. These are the factors to be considered.
1. Xrays to the abdomen and especially the uterus or ovaries which are the reproductive organs may cause damage to the developing baby.
2. You can always request for protection to your abdomen before the xray of the chest is taken. Talk to your radiologist when you are asking for the appointment if they have such facilities.

Please refer to authoritative sites or government agencies for further advice. FDA one if the world's most authoritative sure advises regarding xrays in this site
http://www.fda.gov/Radiation-EmittingProducts/RadiationEmittingProductsandProcedures/MedicalImaging/MedicalX-Rays/ucm142632.htm

Beyond all advice if you can avoid it safely without causing stress to all your family members avoid it. Like for example if you are near to delivery then you might as well avoid it and wait. More damage is possible during the early months of pregnancy because the cells are differentiating to form various organ systems. This is the crucial time when the cells should not be exposed to radiations.

All the best to all.

Best regards,
Drngopal.

Hi Mate, before your CC gets charged, call up your bank and tell them to authorize the charge when the card is swiped from Canada.

They will surely do it. I got it confirmed in our case with HDFC/SBI banks.

Because, what may happen is : CC department will get confused about wrong charging on your CC as it is being swiped from Canada. And if its an odd time as you mentioned in your first point, they may not call you and your charging will be kept on hold by CIC.

Still, there is no point to worry as they try to swipe 3 times before they reject the card/application.

But, to be on safe side call up your CC dept and ask them to authorize the charge.

Cheers,
Prarthu

Appl Recevd By CIC - 6th Nov '14

Its 9:35 AM still no news of DM / PPR. Will the day pass like this ? Is NDVO is hibernating? Lots of questions. But no answer . At least some PPR every day would keep our hopes alive . Whats going on ?. :'(

Looks like no VO is issuing any PPR these days...
Something is cooking at CIC end!!!

This wait is killing all of us. Start issuing PPR's and DM's.

Usually how much time is being taken by NDVO before issuing PPR after the medicals clearance.

how long its been for you?

Because, we are also in the same boat. Our 3rd line medicals have been received is updated sometime back.

I think, all of us (unfortunate PPR waiting members) should leave thinking about PPRs till 25th Feb.

Looking at the speed of NDVO, we should not expect miracle to happen anytime soon.

So, it's worthless to fudge our minds with talk of PPR expectation today or tomorrow.

This is not about being negative. Was just trying to be more practical.

:-\ :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\ :'( :'( :'( :'(
