Seniors, I was wondering parking the amount which is in my savings bank - to a Fixed Deposit in the same bank. Would you recommend that I do it? Will it not jeopardise my PR process? I have more than sufficient liquid funds, which are in FDs/ Insurance/ bonds - which i had declared to CIC in my application. Awaiting your valuable advice. :)

Hi Mamuthebug,

You may wish to do it as CIC would want to ensure you have sufficient funds in your account. I have placed mine in FD a/c as well. In addition, it would be good that the bank can write you a letter indicating the funds available in your FD.

This is what my GCMS shows in the section you asked

Assessments
Eligiblity: In Progress
Security: Not Started
HIRV:
Criminality: In Progress
Org Crime:
Medical: Not Started
Misrepresentation:
Other reqs:
Final:

In fact i mailed CPC-Ottawa twice in last two months for which I got a reply on Dec 31 which said that the THE APPLICATION IS IN QUEUE FOR REVIEW BY AN OFFICER. The notes don't mention any RFV as you stated.

According to you, what might be the scenario and how long it might take for the MR.

Thanks a lot for your support

1) Probably they have decided to get in touch with your employer. It might have been picked for QA or training purposes or they have some doubts in regards to your experience.

2) THE APPLICATION IS IN QUEUE FOR REVIEW BY AN OFFICER = this simply means that they have a due date at which they will bring forward your file to see what's going on with it.

3) MR is issued after eligibility is assessed against MI.

Can someone answer this:

My friends FSW – 2014 (NOC:2173 – Software Engineers) application ( applied through an agent) got rejected stating that the experience letter do not provide sufficient
evidence that she performed the duties for this NOC. The rejection letter is dated 1st October 2014 and she received her package back approximately by the end of October.

Yesterday her agent calls up again asking for the UCI number (Which was written in the general application form using a pencil by CIC) and documents back stating that he
wants to challenge CIC's rejection decision. Is that really possible? Is it worth giving a try?

Any help please

Thanks,
Nsat

What was her application date?
If it is before 12 Aug, 2014 it is good if she feels confident.

Hello friends,

I have posted a query earlier but looking back, there was no reply. Wondering if any one can help.

I read in here that they will do background checks before giving a PER. Would someone be able to advise type of background checks CIC will do before providing the PER?

I collected several -1s from silent retards thinking that I have something against KSA or Pakistan as well =)

Once again, thorough security checks are involved for nationals of certain countries because of obvious risks for Canada, which is fighting against ISIS in the Middle East and invaded Afghanistan in 2001.

Diplomatru, u dnt hv to worry abt the -1s u receive. It adds no value to your Application.
U r a great guy and help many here including myself.
+1 to compensate thou.

I agreed with you. when it comes to security checks, nationalities, travel history...etc.. are among the factors needed to be cosidered.
