Is SSC Certificate acceptable as substitute of Birth Certificate?

It's acceptable if it has your name, date of birth and anyone of the parents name

What is this new column in CIC website, it say's Pending application( Complete application waiting for MI Review acceptance) and for 2171 the number is 161, does it mean that there are still chances for sept 17 applicant???

Few minutes ago, i shared following analysis, i hope it partially answers ur query.

As we all know, CIC has already updated the CAP page and for the first time provided lil better insight into the status of apps.
In my personal opinion, it carries lot of good news for some of the applicants (whose CC has been charged but PER is pending), as full 1,000 PER for NON OF THE NOC HAS ACTUALLY been ISSUED. Here is the summary of previous discussion on the topic.

1. The CAP reached column or previous “apps received column”, is the count of applications deemed complete. It is JUST AN INDICATOR that NO NEED TO SEND MORE APPS in THIS CATEGORY.

2. “Number of Applications counted towards the 1,000 sub-cap” are the ones for which PER has been issued.

3. Pending Applications are the ones for which ELEIBILITY REVIEW has not been completed and PER is pending but CC has been charged. (I think mainly because resources are busy in other tasks). The comforting factor is that PER for good number of apps is pending i.e. you guys are not alone. The delay is due to procedural/resource constraints rather than problem in ur app as there cannot be so many apps with issues.

(My personal guess) If you guys remember, the NOC's with highest # of pending apps are the ones for which (previous count of ) CAP increased to 1,000 in a matter of few days, without corresponding increase in CC charging (as reported on the forum). Therefore, I think PENDING APPS may also include some apps for which CC has not been charged.

If my previous company is not willing to issue me the letter of reference, how to satisfy cic in such situation.. can i send cic my appointment letter and resignation acceptance along with my emails in which i ve requested them to issue me the letter..
Would this be effective??

Attach all the above mentioned docs (appointment letter and resignation acceptance along with emails in which you have requested them to issue the letter) and an employment ref letter signed by your senior in the earlier company. Also attach pay slips to validate salary. Mention JD, salary, work hours also in the ref letter.

Almost correct but 2 year is minimum, it can be longer depending on the extent. If i remember correctly, even minimum has been increased to 5 years.

I guess NER is given by CIC not by VO. and if CIC find the documents not relevant or anything is missing in the documents for eg: roles and responsibilities are not matching to the NOC then NER is issued to the candidate. I don't think they put ban at this point.

I am sep 11 applicant. Just wanted to check is there any way to check your application status before PER mail.
Some ppl commented about their ECAS status and waiting for PER.
Is it possible to check ECAS before PER ?

ECAS can be checked after completeness check and CC charging / DD encashment. It can be checked if you have an earlier issued UCI from earlier applications or UCI obtained from Call centre. But most of the times, ECAS status is reflected only after PER as it is not real time updation and there may be delays from CIC in updating it.

Documents failing the completeness check or post completness checks i.e MI review is the NER which doesnt carry a ban

VO stage is the place where everything is scrutunized and it entirely depends what sort of rejection you get. More grave rejections is a ban to entry in canada.

As what shah2014 has said earlier in his posts that the ban could also go for 5 years
