Hey everybody,

Since the thread is a bit boring today (except for those very select few that got CC or PER), here's some fun trivia about Canada:

1. People in Churchill leave their car doors unlocked in case their neighbours need to make a quick escape from polar bears.

4. For one day in 1943, Ottawa designated a hospital room to be “extraterritorial” (international) ground so a Dutch princess could be born a full Dutch citizen.
(A Dutch requirement for her to keep her princess title.)

5. And every year the Netherlands sends Canada thousands of tulips to show their gratitude.

13. Canada is the most educated country in the world.

20. The nation's official phone number is 1-800-O-Canada.

24. There is a strategic maple syrup reserve.

27. The Citizenship and Immigration Minister declared that Santa Claus is Canadian. (Before us! Has he passed all the tests we did? What was his IELTS??)

You can check the whole list here: http://www.buzzfeed.com/tanyachen/delightful-facts-about-canada

;D ;D ;D ;D Good one :D +1
I wonder under which program did Santa apply - Skilled Worker or was he sponsored by a polar bear :D

Dear members

Can you please clarify- I have received medicals request, can I get my medicals done in INDIA during my holidays and my spouse and child can get their medicals in UK as they are not travelling with me to India. Our application is dealt by London, UK office as we live in UK as British Citizens. I have tried to find this information on CIC website but could not get any details.

Thank you for advise

You can get your medicals done at any country. The same applies to your wife and child.

Just to give an opposing view, I've hired a Canadian Lawyer to help me with this process.

I thought that he helped me a lot. I still used the forum for several things and to understand the process better.

But he made me realize that Job Descriptions and Reference Letters were so important, and made me write them over and over again until they were very clear and complete. He also pushed me to find all the supporting documents possible.

I'm still a long while to get my PER, so I don't know how efficient he was. I even know a forumite that had a problem with him, so I know he is far from being perfect.

But his support made me much more confident in my Application.

Great news for you! Now sit back, relax and wait for your PER, it's on its way. Good luck.

Nope, minimum is 5.0 in all tests to be given the 5 points

Mr Bank,

Please do some research before giving your EXPERT Opinion. He will get 5 points for his spouse for the given IELTS scores.

Dear members
Today when I got an email from my VO, they asked me to submit all the missing documents and to pay RPRF, is that a good sign?
But they didn't ask for MD?

Ignore previous comment , Yes she will get the 5 points

Dear Experts !

My Spouse/ Common Law partner got the following result in IELTS :

Listening: 4.5
Reading: 4.0
Writing: 5.0
Speaking: 4.5

Will this result help me to get additional 5 points in FSWP 2014.

Your urgent reply in this regard is highly appreciated....

Wrong. They require CLB 4 for spouse under FSW.

CLB 4 is:
Listening: 4.5
Reading: 3.5
Writing: 4.0
Speaking: 4.0
