Folks,

For the 2014 Permanent Residents...
I am interested in hearing about the actual experiences for those who landed and are living in Canada now.
e.g. Life while in Canada now in terms of culture shocks, adjustments, family adjustments, job hunting etc

This information will help prepare others who are on their way.

Thanks!

Hey Optimist3,

that's me and my GCMS super-computer.

+1 for your contribution!!

I am stuck in no man's land. Charging for 2171 stopped at 2nd sept. No news on whether 3rd will go in or not. 27th Nov I got an email from them, but not sure if it is indicative enough that im within the cap......

Hard times :(

Good Luck to you for the rest of the process!!

Thanks for your response. However, please note that when I applied - Application Sent on 01 aug'14; reached 11 Aug'14) I was in India since Aug'13. I came to Senegal on 07 Sept'14. This notice has been released on 31 Oct'14.

So when I applied I was in Ebola free country for more than 90 days....so this satisfies first criterion.....my DD charge date is 18 Nov...and therefore I think shall receive PER & Medical request for sure.....

Now the second criterion is that before Finalization by Visa Officer I should again be in a Ebola free country for more than 90 days......

So my question is that if I return back to India in next 15 days.....will I be satisfying the second criterion of 90 days before my file reaches for final decision.....That is How many Days from PER to Medical/Background check etc...

Here is the first thing you need to do when you get your PER. Since your travel to Senegal is AFTER you submitted your application, you should update NDVO of your travel to Senegal and change of job soon after you get PER. After NDVO acknowledges the updates, it will be upto NDVO to decide what to do with your application.

And about the time point, what I am saying is, it doesn't matter when you move to India again. As per the ministerial instruction, decision on your application will not be made (that is visa will not be issued) if it hasn't been 3 months since you left Senegal. It is upto NDVO to decide if they will begin the processing after 90 days or start processing early and only make the decision after 90 days. Since there really hasn't been any other case like yours, you can only wait and see what happens (any prediction would be assumption).

So, it might be best for you to move to India in 15 days, and then update NDVO of your travel to Senegal, start and end of the job in Senegal, and then travel back to India in the same update so that the VO knows exactly when you left Senegal for good. NDVO will then do whatever it is instructed to do in situations like these.

Thanks for your prompt response and valuable input.....+1 for it.
What if I do not inform NDVO about this Senegal altogether.....and just let my Medical and other things to go on as it is....

That would be misrepresentation and you will be banned from applying and/or entering Canada for the next two years when they find out. You travel history is quite easy to find out since you will need to give them your passport for visa stamping.

Kindly comment:

keeping in view current trenda what r predictions for 24 september applicant of 2132(mechanical engineers)?

Is it mandatory to update travel history after filing the application???
