I already posted warning from CIC before a month or so. Reposting it again.

Notice – Telephone Scam Alert

October 10, 2014— Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) is warning individuals of fraudulent telephone calls in which the caller identifies themselves as a CIC officer calling to collect additional personal information or asking that a fine be paid to avoid deportation.

Be aware: CIC does not contact individuals for the purpose of collecting fines or personal information to avoid deportation and NEVER asks the public to make a payment over the telephone.

Anyone who receives a suspicious call should hang up immediately and contact their local police, and report the incident to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre at 1-888-495-8501 or http://www.antifraudcentre.ca or by email at info @ antifraudcentre.ca.

CIC provides tips on its website on how to avoid becoming a victim of fraud. For more information: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/protection/fraud/index.asp

Hello Friends, please help me on this this is most crucial part of application and i am finding it difficult to pass it.

ashif bahi, Mr. right, cannol, jaxon, vind and all seniour and junior memebers help me.... and suggest if every thing is ok.

Hello Seniors,

please suggest for reference letter.
I worked for 2 companies and 3rd company i am working.
1) for first company, i am getting reference letter on the letter head so no problem.
Does, I have to take reference letter from my colleauge also from the first company apart from the Reference letter on the 1st company Letter Head. - NOT REQUIRED

2) Second Company is closed now, all employess resigned from this company and on papers might be this company exist. officially it is closed.
I worked at two designations in second company. I am getting reference letter from the Manager of second company and attaching his old visiting card which is having mobile number and company address and email id which is not used now. Should I attach his outdated visiting card. the manager also resigned from second company. the format of the reference letter is as follows - This is OK
TO WHOMSOEVER IT MAY CONCERN

I would like to recommend Mr. Hartej who worked as Senior Executive in xxxx. as a full time employee. He worked 40 Hours per week.
During his Tenure with xxxx Mr. Hartej worked as System Administrator from 15th June 2009 to 30th April 2011 and as Senior Executive from 1st May 2011 to 4th January 2013.
I was his IT Manager and Mr. Hartej was reporting to me. He did excellent job as System administrator and Senior Executive and was an asset to the organization. He had excellent rapport with the users and senior managers of the company.

His Annual Salary at the time of resignation was INR xxxxxx (xxxxxx in words) which includes Variable Bonus, Retention Bonus, Provident Fund, Gratuity, Health Insurance & Personal Accident Insurance.

He was performing following tasks under my supervision:
x
x
x
x
xx
xxxx
xxxxx

Does this format is good for reference letter.

This is OK. Mention his new contact details in the letter and mention he was working with you in the company that closed down.

3) currently I am working with third company. In this company also my manager is same as was in second company, we both resigned from previous company and joined this company.
Does his Reference letter for both companies is OK? or I have to reference letter for my previous company from my colleague? this is OK.
In current company also, i worked at two designations.
The format of the reference letter is as follows -

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN

I would like to recommend Mr. Hartej who is working as a Team Lead in xxxx as a full time employee. He is working 40 Hours per week.
He is working with xxxx as Senior Executive from 7th January 2013 to 31st May 2014 and as Team Lead from 1st April 2014 to till date.

I am his IT Manager and Mr. Hartej is reporting to me. He is doing excellent job as Team Lead and is an asset to the organization. He has excellent rapport with the users and senior managers of the company.
His Annual Salary is INR xxxxx (xxxxx in words ), which includes Variable Bonus, Retention Bonus, Provident Fund, Fringe Benefits (Group Gratuity, Group Mediclaim & Personal Accident Insurance)

He is performing following tasks under my supervision:
x
xx
xxx
xxxx

please suggest guys.

Does i have to make a self assigned job duties on stamp paper or simply reference letter on a plain paper from the same manager in two companies will be ok? Also does i have to get the reference letter of my colleague also apart from manager reference letter.? Self assigned job duties letter not fine.

Hi All,
Good to see things are going well on this forum. Wanted to alert you on a bogus call I received.

I received a call from 8882422100 number today. The person said he was from CIC department and wanted to verify my information. He already had my name, email ID, phone number and asked if I was already in Canada or planning to move there soon. He did not know that my PR has already been processed and inquired if I received any recent communication from CIC. I was suspicious and asked him to confirm my UCI number to assure me if he was really from CIC at which he disconnected the call.

I googled this number and found it to be a bogus call. These people claim to be from CIC and ask to deposit some fees in the name of CIC. Beware of such calls or emails.

Take care and good luck!!
Good information..thanks

Hello forumites,

I have got an additional reference letter (there is an old one from HR) without letterhead, signed form a senior engineer in my company, that states in more details my job description, but he does not have a business card to attach with it, could I only send a cover letter with his communication information, or office phone number?

Ok as this is an additional Ref letter.

It's very silly to discuss this topic on this forum any further. Anyone who is not genuinely interested in Canada shouldn't spend that much time on this thread worrying about their application every day. If life is so great in the UK, why not enjoy your achievements at present and if you have no intention of immigrating to Canada, why would you take up the spot that could be a blessing for someone else. We don't need to know how great your life is in the UK, because we are all here for the same reason to have a better life in Canada. Cheers!!!
