My girlfriend started her medical process before being asked for the medical request, mainly because we were originally going to apply under the family class. As it turns out, this is likely a good thing (that we started early) since they found a small amount of blood in her urine. She redid the urine test a month later, and she still shows a small amount of blood.

I've found a few other threads in here about women with similar results and that sometimes the CIC asked for more tests to be done, but it sounds like they still went through. They are currently doing a microscopic analysis and said they may refer her to a specialist if there is anything there that they can treat, such as a UTI.

What is the likelihood that they would reject an application based on something like that?

Rejection for blood in urine is remote unless underlying reason is something serious like prostrate cancer or other life taking diseases.

Hi duanestorey,

My wife too had a similar situation. But it was diagnosed earlier to our immigration medicals. Her own doc diagnosed the condition as well as a UTI. She also had kidney function tests and an abdominal ultrasound to confirm that there was nothing wrong with her kidneys. When she had undertaken the immi.medicals, her urine did show trace of blood and all those reports from our doc were produced before them and they had taken photocopies of the same. It is now 2 weeks since the immi.medicals and we havnt heard anything from the VO about a recheck.

It was suggested by her doc that strenuous physical activity can cause such a situation if nothing is wrong with the kidneys or other internal organs otherwise (in fact, she was practicing some sort of dance form, which we assume could hav been the culprit.)

Yes I had my UCI number.

Previous year applicants do have UCI. Only fresh applicants will not have it. They will get it at the time of PER.
