Post visa, you can work on any NOC you like. There is no restriction or monitoring on this. You are a free man.

Makes sense. Thanks for the reply. Another quickie, what do you guys feel about making the 2173 cut? 425 as of now. % chances? Wild guesses?

Regards,

The NOC code is only required for your visa application. Once it has been granted you can work in any field in Canada, heck even as a wood logger!

So don't worry about cross functional duties in the 217x NOCs, apply to the one which suits your application the best (of course, with valid JD letter).

Gotcha! Thanks for the reply. What would you reckon chances of 2173. I would say slim given the numbers.

Lighter note: Wood loggers would get paid better than me, don't mind taking it up! :D

@alwaysonnet I shared my old reference letter long time back in June when my original application came back with the same letter about job duties. So I got a new experience letter, more simple and very close to NOC description and resubmitted my application July 16. Still waiting for DD Charge and PER, but nothing came back this time. So no news is good news :)

OpeCanada and Can_2014 - Did you both share the reference letter offline?

From your message, I can understand that opeCanada is convinced by the decision of CIC. Anyways, you still have time and can reapply with a new set of reference letters and forms available from CIC website.

Best of luck. :)

Dear 2172 applicants

My question is ...can a sql developer apply under 2172 ? or they should do some more analytical jobs to be qualified under 2172?

Did you speak bitter truth or gave blunt answer to a question or two? I have experienced this. However, no one's going to gain or lose anything out of + and -1s so don't look at it. It's about having fun while trying to share knowledge ;D cheers!

Building up on that. Recently I have posted an ad on kijiji to sell my iphone. I received an sms on 2AM with a request to send it to Nigeria for extra 100$ with some crooked payment scheme. I replied with a request to get lost. There is a lot of fraud around, and these Nigerian cons have been a target of jokes in most countries I lived in for quiet a while. If someone fails to understand humour and the agenda it's based on, it's his problem, not Jaxon911's who has uplifted the forum moods on several occasions and is definitely a great guy.

Thanks DiplomatRU for the support! System isn't letting me give you another +1 before I wait 168 hours! ;D

I belive this forum is for having fun and supporting each other. Again, I'd stress that my intention is never to hurt anyone. I express my thoughts transparently but with good intentions only. Doesn't mean that I can't err, but if I do, I will certainly be quick to accept and apologize.

Anyway, that's it for the day. I'm signing off. Good luck to those waiting and congratulations to those who received good news today.

The picture is a lot muddy since there has been no CAP update since 10th of this month. Once it happens, hopefully today, you can check back in again later today to get a better picture.

+1 for your positive outlook 8)

@ vind - what did ur letter of employment contain ?

Good question dude

None of my reference letter was containing 100% required information except period worked, designation and job duties.
Info like salary was mentioned on my appointment letters.

I sent supplementary letter/email printouts stating my job hours/full time employee.

For one employer I did not submitted any reference letter instead submitted appointment letter which had my job duties. I submitted salary certificate for that employer as the salary was not mentioned in appointment letter.

So I highlighted all the key information in all the documents.

In all required information was available in bits and pieces but was complete. Thanks to the efforts made by the reviewing officer at cio.

May this help someone ....Thanks and good luck all
