Hi, I and my husband are applying for PR this month and I wanted to see if we are eligible for 2173 as He has 3 yrs of experience as Software Engineer and 1 YEAR AS Senior Project mgmt consultant. And I have 3 yrs of experience as Senior software Engineer. Pls advise.

check the page of NOC 2173 and if your duties match a substantial number of the "main duties" and all of the "essential duties" (if any are listed) of the NOC, and a substantial number of the duties listed in the lead statement (introductory paragraph) then you are eligible. Also check other IT NOCs as 2173 is hot and filling up fast.

Hey, guys. My docs were received on June 12. But the fee was still not yet charged till now. Does that mean mine will be refused or still some chances existing? If my docs will be returned, how can I know it before I got the returned package, an email will be sent to me by CIO?
I found an typo in my app, I typed 0013 in question 12a of IMM0008 but it should be 0113. All other NOC numbers were correctly typed. This type can cause reject?

If you specify the wrong NOC I think that is a rejection. I can recall some cases. The good thing is even if it is returned you will have time to apply again. Stay strong and keep the faith.

My sister package was returned on 24 Sep, her rejection letter dated 12 Sep (Birth certificate was not accepted). Her application was received on 13 June... considering this... I think for you NO NEWS IS A GOOD NEWS...

My sympathies to your sister. Why was her birth certificate not accepted?

Hello Everybody, as I can see lot of people getting impatient in the forum, I would like to share my timelines. I am currently in Canada and had applied for FSW in March 2010. At that time there were no CAPS in any of the NOC;s and there were many more NOC's.

We received your application for permanent residence on March 30 2010.
We reviewed your application and sent you a letter (PER) on June 29, 2010.
Your application and supporting documents were received by the Singapore office. They are pending review.
We transferred your application to the Singapore office on July 6, 2010. The Singapore office may contact you.
Your application was reviewed and we started processing on April 24, 2012.
A decision has been made on your application. The office will contact you concerning this decision.

You Entered Canada at the Lester B Pearson Intl Airport on Aug xx, 2013 and became a PR.

You can see there was nothing in 2011. They just went silent for one year. Have patience guys... the system is slow but ca'nt help it..

As per my understanding being in Canada ALBERTA (Calgary, Edmonton) is BOOMING... where as BRITISH COLUMBIA (Vancouver) has slowed down... ONTARIO (Toronto) is where most of the immigrants land , hence there is already a lot of talent available in ONTARIO but there is still a demand there...

Earlier people living in Ontario and BC didn't want to move to ALBERTA....but have been noticing a change in the trend...

Hehe... u mentioned about punjab da pindd...but seriously guys (and dont feel bad)...Chinese people are maximum in existence at any place. I say this because i see them into medical, IT, restaurants, etc etc etc etc...u name and u feeel find their dominance. People will say gujju and punjabis are majority in specific but i would like to highlight...come and visit toronto downtown and u will see how few indian/pakistani/srilankan/nepali origin as compared to Chinese...
But yes brampton is punjabi biased, missisauga gujju and punjabi, scarborough gujju and tamil crowd (mix of indian and sri lankan)...

Hello I need some help regarding Proof of Funds. Can I show the required amount of funds in 2 accounts? Like for making 17000 CAD, is it ok if I show 9000 in one account and 8000 CAD in second account? One account is in my name and one a combined account of me and my spouse? Any chance that would negatively impact my application?

That is fine but no joint accounts other than you and your spouse, for example you and your parent or your spouse and a sibling. Those wouldn't be acceptable.
