Hi guys,

Just joined this forum. CIC received my application for NOC 1112 on 18th Sep. I am a bit worried if min would fall within the cap. Just to clarify, does the cap refer to the number of complete applications received? It is not the PERs issued right? How long does it take for the CIC to undertake a completeness check?

Hello Seniors,

I have got my Ecas updated with second line on 28th sep that
"We have started processing your app on 25th Sep"

App sent - 12th May
PER - 21st Aug

When can I expect my MR ?
Will the second line addition means they r going to take it slow ?
( as many have said they received their MR prior to second line update )

Do advice, TIA
Congrats and +1

Actually this is the 1st week after the initial period of May where the cap update is less than 40 for 2171. The trend ahead is even more positive: the number of applications received per SS is on a gradual decline after June 16. So the cap update per week is going to be rather less, to the tune of 20-30 per week.

If we average out 25 caps/wk, it will take 25+ weeks to hit the cap limit. I can see this NOC easily going into December end territory end at least. People applying right now need not loose hope, keep up the pace and hit the target.

this trend will be followed by other NOCs as well?
i am asking because 2132 and 2171 are not far apart and both are close in numbers. m 2132 applicant of 24 september. i want to make guess regarding fate of my application

Dear All,

I am planning to start my immigration process from Dubai and will be able to submit my application earliest by 6-10 Dec. NOC I am planning to apply in is 2173. Whats your opinion experts, do I stand a chance or not.

Please advise...

Thanks!

Anyone has an idea about BOWP (Bridging Open Work Permit), in order to extend stay in Canada?

When is a candidate eligible to apply for BOWP?

Cheers man ... !!! I think it will be a very close call for me to be counted in for PER... !!!

I'm still positive coz till two updates back NOC1112 was 595/3510.... about 17%
the previous update has a total increase of 595... .and NOC1112 increase by 56.... so NOC1112/total for the past week is <10%
Proves that NOC1112 is not as HOT.... hoping for the 1000 cap to last another 6 odd weeks....

Hopefully some senior member can provide his or hers 2 cents about my interpretation of the cap update....

NOC 2173 Applicant, received at CIO on Sept 26th (last friday!)

Average applications per cap update on the NOC is about 43 (considering only the last 6 updates). If that pace is kept it means that the CAP will be reached in approximately 16 or 17 weeks, which is January 16-23.

Also, the rough average days of application being charged from time of receipt at CIO is about 90-100 days, or 11-12 weeks.

Considering those numbers, i believe all applications under NOC 2173 received at CIO at 90 days before January 16 (Oct 16th) should be safe, give or take a few days.

Here's hoping i am right :P

Your theory is good and believable .

Few more point . Current average no of apps per week is 49 to 52. Also the total apps getting completed every week has incresed from 500 and now it's @ 600 odd. Still the 2173 completed apps per week stands between 49 to 52 . So the percentage of apps is reducing slowing .

So 2171 jumped from 275 to 311 that means a jump of 36 applications every week. By that speed,
1000-311 = 689 spaces left and we are into June 1st week which means if 36 applications are updated every week consistently 2171 would take 19 weeks to fill up i.e roughly between 4-5 months from June 1st i.e Till SEPT-OCT 2014.

Is my calculation making sense to anyone, am I correct? What say others?

No.. Your calculation does not make sense.. I have already explained the calculation during last CAP updates... Its not 1 week update... Although the CAP update happens weekly but the PER date is increasing be 2 to 3 days only... So, 2171 may reach its CAP by end of July only...

For 2173, my guess is that Dec will be too late.

For applying bridge work permit you have to be in a work permit within Canada. if you are working for a closed work permit with an employer here in Canada . After you get your PER you can apply for the bridge open work permit
