Hi,

I had picked category 1112 (financial and investment analyst) while applying for qualification assessment with ICAS. but later on, I have decided to apply under category 0111 (Financial managers). I have received the assessment report and it just says that the bachelor is equivalent to Canadian bachelor and MBA is equivalent to Canadian MBA. It does not mention anything about the category on the assessment report.

I would like to ask for guidance if I am eligible to apply under different category now.

Thanks a lot in advance.

Regards

Guys, I have Given up hope now,

Medicals/RPRF Fee/PCC submitted 07/23/2014 reached 07/25/14
No ECAS Update to reflect medicals received.
Medicals were ok and re-confirmed with the doctor.
Emailed CPP Ottawa requesting confirmation of received documents, no response over 25 days.

No Idea what should I do, Its been over two months since submission of documents. Any advice?

CanOI,

I have application package ready to ship & filled forms, docs to support my claim for NOC 2132. I noticed that similar NOC 2232 is also available to me as some of the duties matches.
if you were me, what would you do . send application right away & try luck if I am in (at risk of courier charges & in future 2232 is an option as it is COLD NOC but at risk if Jan'15 express entry may close fsw2014 intake)? OR change the package to suite with 2232 by taking 1 more week & send for this NOC.( 5 yrs of experience are towards NOC 2132 so at the risk of loosing points if CIC doesnt award me points for that evenif they are skill level A).

Very difficult to say as this isn't my NOC.

Nevertheless I would select a NOC where maximum job duties match

They(cic) didnt post anything but one of the applicant whose file reached 22nd June to CIC has been returned due to some reason, so since this guy's file has already reached him, means it would have been posted atleast a month back by cic. Assuming this, i think that by now cic would have completed July completeness check too. This is just as per my understanding :)

Good Observation and hope for people still expecting 'Per', for discussed Period Like myself

Hi Future Canadian,

I think the instance of Local VOs asking for bank statements has increased and have seen couple of cases in the last 2-3 days. From your experience, can you suggest what could be pointers for them to suspect and ask for 6 months bank statement.

My other question is, CIC nowhere mentions that we need to hold this money in the same account till we land in Canada. Hence, will it be ok to show proof of funds in form of liquid instruments like FDs, MFs, etc, not essentially the same account we have used for PoF in the initial stage.

This is a general query, will help every one know.

Thank you.

I don't have any experience, otherwise I would already be in Canada. ;D I have only the knowledge gained from this forum and talking to others including an attorney.

Some things that will increase the likelihood of the VO asking for 6 (or more) consecutive months of bank statements:

1. Being from a country that is known for immigration fraud (India, China, Middle East, some African countries). No offense intended, it's just the truth.
2. Having only barely enough settlement funds.
3. Suspicion that the stated amount of assets or settlement funds may be false ("smell test," or comparison with other items in your application, such as employment history).
4. Suspicion about any other portion of the application which would cause a more thorough review.
5. Large exchange rate fluctuations.
6. Suspicion that the funds may not really be yours (borrowed).
7. Suspicion about the source of the funds (illegal activity).

The above are generally things that will cause an application to receive more scrutiny (e.g. employer verification), not just with regard to settlement funds.

You are correct that the settlement funds you show to the local VO or at landing need not be in the same account as shown on your application. They could be completely different funds. Just try to avoid suspicion about the source of the funds or whether they are really yours.

Your ECA only confirms if your academic credentials are valid and up to the Canadian standards. The category you enter in there is only for the WES' survey purpose, it has nothing to do with the category apply for in FSW.

You can apply for any NOC in which you have at least one year of full time experience and an employment reference letter confirming your job duties matches with the job duties for NOC, and all other necessary details about your employment. FYI, generally CIO Sydney sets very very high standards for Finance Managers category. Unless you're really manager of a large team or at a senior management level it'll be difficult to qualify, IMHO!
