A woman in Nova Scotia, Canada rushed to the hospital in critical condition. Her husband waits patiently in the waiting room. After a few minutes, the doctor comes out and asks her assistant for a wrench, which understandably concerns the husband.

Then, after a couple more moments, the doctor re-enters the room this time asking for a screwdriver. The man grows worried and begins to pace in circles.

Then, a little later, the doctor bursts through the doors screaming for a hammer, at that, the husband, in a state of frenzied terror, runs up to the surgeon and asks, ''Doctor, what the heck is wrong with my wife?''

"I don't know," replies the flustered doctor, "I can't get my damn bag open."

When will CIC update the CAP?
This is brilliant, TheMapleLeaf ;). Good one!

This place sure could do with more laughs, with all the waiting/tension going on. It wouldn't hurt anyone to exercise their facial muscles!!

+1!

Edit: And of course Karma blocks my attempt to spread the +1 goodness (Just like One+1 is in short supply ;)). Keeping your +1 reserved.

Ma'am, your previous experience in Canada is what's keeping people like us hopeful :)! You don't need to worry about such posts, the person who shared this has clearly mentioned things are tougher for 'Temp workers' or those who don't have Canadian Citizenship or PR.

My 2 cents/paise: You correctly said "different people, different experiences". It depends how much homework one does before landing in CA as immigrating to a different land is not to be taken lightly. You need to have certain consequence management plans in action to undertake when necessary in order to survive the initial period (it could be few months for some to few years for others). Doing some research beforehand about your qualification status in Canada would do wonders for your preparedness. This is what I gather from friends already settled over there. Again, there is no such thing as a free lunch and certainly not from people who are interaction with you for the first time.

This forum is again proving it's worth where such information can be shared by other members, and new hopefuls deriving benefit from it.
I'd thought to share my experience and may be many will feel better and will think out of the box. I had gone to Canada for studies when I was 16, unfortunately being a teenage and on top parting away from my family for 8 months was jolting enough for me to run back to my country. But let me tell you one thing!, those "few months" made me want to return back and never to leave again!... I miss the freshness in the air, the beautiful wilderness , the people... the more I remember of it.. the more it makes me miss Canada! So, whoever says it's harsh in weather or anything else should realize the weather they are sitting in at the moment is hot and humid, isn't it? If you can put on A/C and consume power in doing so then why can't you use heating equipment there in Canada which would be relatively far cheaper in bills than now!.. I admit, it'll be start from the scratch for many. But still it sure does worth it and you'd love the experience and every bit of it!

Hi All,

Just an FYI...

For people who have used their CC in India, Please keep in mind that CC companies charge extra Service charge on top of the 1250 CAD, that would be approximately 3000 INR.
So make sure you keep that amount available and also keep in mind the fluctuating exchange rate

Hello Sujith,

Does they asked the PCC from current address or from permanent address?

or they simply asked for PCC Report.

Regarding your question, Seniors can answer as i do not have idea about this.

They do not mention "PCC from current address or permanent address"

PCC from any address is ok. But preferably needs to be done from current address

I agree that the weather is cold, I been in US for 5 years and I can expect how it would be in Canada
But it is not that bad
@Home we have heater
@Office we have heater
@Car we have heater
@Shopping are ventilated as well

If you get accustomed to weather its not a big deal.... 8) 8) 8) 8)

Guys, I have Given up hope now,

Medicals/RPRF Fee/PCC submitted 07/23/2014 reached 07/25/14
No ECAS Update to reflect medicals received.
Medicals were ok and re-confirmed with the doctor.
Emailed CPP Ottawa requesting confirmation of received documents, no response over 25 days.

No Idea what should I do, Its been over two months since submission of documents. Any advice?
Please!! Don't loose heart now, being so close to the target. There could just be some delay at VO's end, with no reason to fear from your side. I know, it's easier said than done but you need to keep waiting patiently. You've waited for so long, what more is a few more days?

Btw, when you marked a mail to CPC Ottawa did you mention 'Urgent: Reply Required' in the Subject box? This is imperative, as shared by someone earlier to get a response over email.

Though no one knows for sure, my guess is that, they would have already done the completeness check for the entire month of June by now, and the numbers updated in their site indicates the applications completed...
Going with that approach, sep may also get covered for 2173
:)
hope your guess will come true....

Has the reference letter been signed by you (self declared) or your boss / colleague ?

Hi Guys,

Today my CC is charged. I am 10th Jun applicant. NOC - 2174.

I feel so happy today. Actually my application was supposed to reach on 27th May. But then I identified few mistakes in my form. So with help of my sister and brother in law, I rerouted to their canadian address. Without them and your help, it was difficult to make it today. I will update my entry in SS soon.
