My 2 cents/paise: You correctly said "different people, different experiences". It depends how much homework one does before landing in CA as immigrating to a different land is not to be taken lightly. You need to have certain consequence management plans in action to undertake when necessary in order to survive the initial period (it could be few months for some to few years for others). Doing some research beforehand about your qualification status in Canada would do wonders for your preparedness. This is what I gather from friends already settled over there. Again, there is no such thing as a free lunch and certainly not from people who are interaction with you for the first time.
This forum is again proving it's worth where such information can be shared by other members, and new hopefuls deriving benefit from it.
