Ma'am, your previous experience in Canada is what's keeping people like us hopeful ! You don't need to worry about such posts, the person who shared this has clearly mentioned things are tougher for 'Temp workers' or those who don't have Canadian Citizenship or PR.

My 2 cents/paise: You correctly said "different people, different experiences". It depends how much homework one does before landing in CA as immigrating to a different land is not to be taken lightly. You need to have certain consequence management plans in action to undertake when necessary in order to survive the initial period (it could be few months for some to few years for others). Doing some research beforehand about your qualification status in Canada would do wonders for your preparedness. This is what I gather from friends already settled over there. Again, there is no such thing as a free lunch and certainly not from people who are interaction with you for the first time.

This forum is again proving it's worth where such information can be shared by other members, and new hopefuls deriving benefit from it.

Hi Future Canadian,

I think the instance of Local VOs asking for bank statements has increased and have seen couple of cases in the last 2-3 days. From your experience, can you suggest what could be pointers for them to suspect and ask for 6 months bank statement.

My other question is, CIC nowhere mentions that we need to hold this money in the same account till we land in Canada. Hence, will it be ok to show proof of funds in form of liquid instruments like FDs, MFs, etc, not essentially the same account we have used for PoF in the initial stage.

This is a general query, will help every one know.

Personal Details: Have you ever used another name? if I answer "yes" ... it makes FAMILY NAME a compulsory field to fill.

If someone has not used her family name before marriage ......... do we have to write it (Never mentioned in any of the educational documents)

Do you mean that before marriage, she had NO family name at all? Or she just used a different family name (the one she had at birth)? If she had some different family name, you should enter that. If she had no family name at all, follow the Guide's instructions for people who have no family name. I believe it should be ok to write N/A in that field.

ADDITIONAL DEPENDENT : 4.5 year old kid

What will be :

1. Highest Level of Education none
2. Current Occupation none
3. Intended Occupation none
4. If native language is not English which language do you use most? Just answer honestly, at 4.5 years the child speaks at least one language no?
5. Number of years in education? (Studying in Kindergarten) none

1. I got PER on 11th sept and after that i got my passport renewed.now, should i inform NDVO about it or should i wait for their response?

2. I had submitted PCC along with my app but that PCC has my old passport number mentioned on it. Should i go for a new PCC with the new Passport number?

2. Probably not necessary. Only if they ask you for it.

I AM SO CONFUSED WITH THIS.

You need to provide all documentation stated in the document checklist and on that form IMM5604E stated as required to bring a child with a non-accompanying parent.

i have given bank statement of my saving account for POF.i use that account and at present the balance in that account is more than double that i showed at the time of sending my app.is that a matter of concern for me?

Hi, Few days ago I checked my ecas status and it says "We have started processing your application on September 17th". I am ndvo 8th may applicant. But still have not received MR etc. I noticed that certain applicants from 12th may have received medicals. Is it due to the time they take to perform background checks?
Also I wanted to ask those who have received MR that whether they received it by email or speed post?

I've added an entry in SS but it appears at the bottom so I request the moderators to move it at its proper place.
