Guys,

One query:
When I made my DD thru bank, the bank gave me the DD in hand and the amount was deducted from my account. (Ok)
How will I come to know when CIC approves it etc?
Any ideas?

All those who have made DD, can you please help me explain this?

Dear Expert ,

I got bank certificate , and they mentioned i have 8 lacs in my account on the certificate with basic details .

Now my question is , i have just put , $14333 in settlement fund , and didnt mention at all which exchange rate i haf used ? could it be the problem ? do i need to specify somewhere about the exchange rates as well ?

I am 8May applicant. Everything went smoothly till I get my PER on 12Aug. After this, there is no progress. My VO is Ottawa.
I can see that many candidates that submitted the application after 8May are also getting MR request.

The only thing that can console me is the fact that I had already provided PCC (for me and my spouse) with the application bundle and my spouse had undergone medical for his work permit after I applied FSW.
So I am thinking that even though I have not reported that my spouse had undergone medical, the CPC ottawa would pull it out with my spouse's passport info. Please note that I had already submitted my medical results with the application itself in May.

Appreciate if somebody can provide some insight that what could be going on with my application. My ECAS status is still showing "submitted application on 8May".
Could it be the case that I am heading for rejection?

Thanks in advance.

You can't compare application dates between different VOs. It's very strange because Ottawa seemed so fast at first but has slowed down, and people after about May 7 are now waiting a while. The same is true for my VO, Hong Kong. A very few lucky early applicants are almost all the way home but since then everyone is waiting. Only NDVO and Manila seem to be working quickly.

IELTS score is valid for 2 years ... no one can challenge that.

We have never come across such an absurd reason .... there is something fishy here !!!

Relax! IELTS are good for 2 years. As long as yours was less than 2 years old at the time your application was received you are fine.

No problem. You are fine.

it would be wiser to fill details on all forms as per passport name for your spouse.

Also you can make one affidavit stating that after marriage your wife name/surname has been changed. make sure to mention all the names in affidavit which she has in certificates (educational, birth certificate and any other documents you are planning to send along with application.

If you have more than 5 dependent members along with you than you are require to fill additional dependent form. Additional Dependants/Declaration (IMM 0008DEP) (PDF, 472 KB). if less than 5 members than not required.

Document Checklist – Centralized Intake Office (IMM 5612) (PDF, 233 KB)... please fill all the forms as per checklist. if you have hired consultant than you need to fill form Use of a Representative (IMM 5476), if applicable. (PDF, 55 KB)....if you are applying on your own than not required.

No it would not! This would result in the forms being filled out incorrectly.

The generic form should certainly have the same name as the passport. However, under "have you ever used any other names," maiden names are specifically mentioned, so his wife's maiden name should go here. Additionally, any question that ask for "name at birth" should use the name as it appears on the birth certificate.

There is no need for an affidavit regarding a name change if it is a simple matter of a woman changing her name at marriage. The marriage certificate will suffice.

thanks a lot dear but i have mentioned my old UCI number and this time i am claiming points for different category. NOC 0121

But as i think last time i have not mentioned proper duties , i modified them

Ok that makes sense. But remember you could still get points for 1122 experience if it is accepted.

Keep an eye on Exchange Rate.

More is fine but the funds shouldnt go below $14333.

You'd have to ask your bank

Not to mention, even in the "less desirable" areas Canada is for the most part very safe and friendly. Life as a new immigrant will have its challenges but it bothers me when people come here and tell horror stories. With realistic expectations, perseverance and a long-time vision you will do fine.

+1 for you for that thought!!!

Yes and possibly wait having children until you are settled, but not too long ;)

I think this would be an appropriate way to celebrate your first night living in Canada...
