When we told our family that we plan to immigrate to Canada they came up with lots of bad things obout Canada even though nobody knew anything about it.
Just to scare us and get this idea out of our hats. The cold weather, our bad English, no family to help raising your children, the bad health system, the different mentality, the social system, how do you want to find a job, bla bla bla
We didnt care, nobody cares, its your dream and you go for it.

Applicant received: 3rd June 2014
DD Charged: Sometime last week
PER received: 29th September 6:05 PM Dubai time.

One query:
When I made my DD thru bank, the bank gave me the DD in hand and the amount was deducted from my account. (Ok)
How will I come to know when CIC approves it etc?
Any ideas?

My courier received date: 17th Sep 2014.

Is there any way to check status what is happening on my application. Since i have not received any UCI or mail communication from CIC yet.

Chill out, CIC is processing early June applicants. You have a few months to wait before you would hear anything from CIC.

They(cic) didnt post anything but one of the applicant whose file reached 22nd June to CIC has been returned due to some reason, so since this guy's file has already reached him, means it would have been posted atleast a month back by cic. Assuming this, i think that by now cic would have completed July completeness check too. This is just as per my understanding

thanks for the explanation. But it still means that we cant know for sure whats happening to our file. His file might have reached early because of his geographical location....mine maybe in transit or maybe

I've read too many blogs with mixed opinion about this program. Not really sure whom to believe, but it is scary

if you are family its much easier becoz both husband and wife will earn......need not to be scare .....you may need to update ur qualification but may able to find some sort of job ......

Maiden name is name at birth. So yes fill in what appears on her birth certificate.

You should check the document checklist carefully to know which forms you need. You need all forms, except you only need "statutory declaration of common law union" and "additional dependants" under certain circumstances.

I got bank certificate , and they mentioned i have 8 lacs in my account on the certificate with basic details .

Now my question is , i have just put , $14333 in settlement fund , and didnt mention at all which exchange rate i haf used ? could it be the problem ? do i need to specify somewhere about the exchange rates as well ?

Ohh God, wot does it mean you need to take up test after May,2013???? I have given the test in MARCH 2013? What does it mean
Anybody else given the IELTS Test before MAY, 2013 and got PER??

Relax! IELTS are good for 2 years. As long as yours was less than 2 years old at the time your application was received you are fine.

Oh please, dont scare everybody, we are hoping to RETURN to Calgary. Lived there almost 9 years and we miss it so much!!!!!!
If you look at www.mls.ca
You get a house for under 500.000 Dollar. Doesnt have to be the best areas for the start
The weather in Calgary is actually nice. Cold yes, but dry. And sunny most of the year. If you dress warm you are fine. The city is prepaired for that. Never a problem for us
I am just saying, different people different experiences

Not to mention, even in the "less desirable" areas Canada is for the most part very safe and friendly. Life as a new immigrant will have its challenges but it bothers me when people come here and tell horror stories. With realistic expectations, perseverance and a long-term vision you will do fine.
