Can anyone please confirm whether you can see the status of old application(s) that was/were previously refused on ECAS? When I log in, I can only see the "in process" status of my application that I submitted in May, 2014. I do not see anything about the application I had submitted in 2008.
Here is a bit of dust covered history:
I am not sure how many are aware, but, back in 2008, it was called the Simplified Application method whereby an applicant would be required to submit only forms and no supporting documents, directly to the responsible visa office. In November_2008, Ministrial Instructions came in effect for the first time that shortened the list of eligible NOC's and retroactively rendered some applications, submitted between February and November, ineligible for processing. Mine was one of those unfortunate ones as my NOC was no longer in the new list. In addition, sometime in a later year CIC began the job of returning thousands of applications without processing filed even before February_2008, as part of a move toward cleaning up a large backlog.
Why am I saying all that? It is because I need to get rid of the grim feeling I am having - wondering whether CIC treated my case as a refusal or something else.
