This depends on what stage of application are you ? Have you applied already and waiting for PER/MR ?
If yes, apply for new passport and then PCC (this will take min 1 month , go for tatkal then 15-20 days)
If you have got MR/PCC request now , then better visit police commissioner and get PCC rightaway. Go via some agent, they will give u pcc in 1 week max. submit pcc and then apply for new passport.

I received PER yesterday . IS it safe to re-apply for passport at this stage?

Why to take chance if some of your duties match with 2172 please apply as NOC 2173 is hot NOC...nobody can actually comment when it will reach cap but yes there r estimations by seniors..

There is no issue of duplication. Even CIC site says that you can file multiple applications...no issues et all.. :)

All the best :)

Hello there

I application reached CIC offfice on 24th September (y'day) . I have applied under NOC 2173. Do you there is any chance to be in the cap of 1000.
Some of be job roles and responsibilities match with NOC 2172 . Should i send new application with that NOC 2172 as well.
Will it be a problem of duplication.
I am worried as the cap is filling up very fast

Appreciate some response .

Thanks & Regards

I can guess to the point of surity that it will result in rejection... Send both forms as additional docs and acknowledge in cover letter that wrong date of birth was written by mistake

Thanks a lot for your response....

first and foremost, do a thorough research how much time does it take to get passport re-issued. if you are staying at new address, that means police verification will be required so it will take more time.
if you can shed some money and arrange it within a month then go for it. otherwise arrange pcc via police commisioner

Dear forumites,

In the back ground declaration form, there is a column asking for the education where they ask name of the institution. For my bachelors, the name of the college which I studied is XXX College, however all the certificates and marksheets are issued in the name of YYY University of which many other colleges including XXX college is also a part of. So should I give the name of the XXX College or YYY University?

Give the name of university

Hi Friends,

when is that NDVO does the job Background verification? Is it before MR request or after MR request.

This is a little grey area, but consider it can be done before or after MR. This will pacify your mind as well and you should not anticipate next milestone sooner.

Hi Guys,

GOT PER 24 SEPT 2014

APP DATE: 21 MAY 2014

CC charged: 22 SEPT 2014

NOC:3142

Congrats buddy,

just one thing i wanted to ask, you received your PER much later than others as i am seeing in spreadsheet 21 May applicants had recd their news much earlier, did you send an email to CIC enquiring them about your application and then you received PER or you never sent any email.

The reason i am asking this is coz i am a 26th may applicant, most of the other applicants of my date have already recd PER and i have no news at all, so i have sent an email to CIC enquiring about my application, i just wanted to understand if CIC is actually referring to enquiry mails and then issuing PERs to some or should i expect a rejection reply from them only.

If you had included appointment letter I guess that should be fine. If required VO will ask for salary slips once your file reaches NDVO, but your application will pass CIC stage succesfully.

Wait for minimum 90- 100 days. Before that you wont hear anything from cio.

Good luck

Those who submitted before june 6th started getting PER or almost got PER. Long way to go in your case.

As suggested by frasiercrane, you can give another IELTS (and this time take passport as proof of identity and no where use the resident card).

How much time would it take to correct your resident card? If the time is comparable for IELTS and getting resident card corrected then choose IELTS as the option , as that is a simplier way.

Dear frasiercrane

thank you for the suggestion....actually while registering online for the test i provided details as per PP thinking that test card will have same details but when i went for the finger print i took my resident card as ID proof....if IDP guys could have told me to bring or to show PP i would have done it...but instead they took details from my resident card...sometime i feel like complaining about this to consumer protection authority...here.

In that case you can create an annexure to be attached to the form(include your name, form no., question number etc above the annexure page:

From To Name of Institution City and Country Type of certificate or diploma issued Field of Study
2002-08 2006-06 xxx college (yyy University) ABC Bachelor of Technology Information Technology

It will be very helpful to all of us, if someone who is done with his Medical can explain the process in detail.

For Eg.,
1. How long the process took after you met the CIC designated doctor?
2. What all tests (blood/urine/x-rays/ECG etc) were done? I think they mainly check for HIV/Diabetes/TB etc, but what else?
3. Apart from Tests, did Doctor check anything else like, Height/Weight/BP/TMT(5min walk on treadmill to see if person becomes breathless to chk heart condition) ?
4. Did the doctor ask any other question related to medical history / or lifestyle(drinking/smoking/eating habits/hrs of sleep) etc ?

Medical is to be done for all ? 7yr old kid too ??

Thanks.
