I applied on category 2281 and my documents were received by CIC on 6/30/2014.
I have not heard anything from CIC yet. When should i expect reply??

Yes brother, the cover letter should serve the purpose containing proper explanation as you give. Also IELTS got your picture - which is enough to proof it is your.

Dont quite agree with predictions by KSA a few pages back .. everyone reading that and feeling concerned, please understand that its a mere speculation and all NOCs are OPEN as of now ..

Infact besides 1112 & 2174, a safe prediction is that all the other NOCs are open to be applied till date.. 2171 and 2281 are reaching borderline by mid october and rest all are safe .. again all this is also speculation .. NO OPEN INFORMATION IS AVAILABLE ANYWHERE, except the numbers published by CIC every week...

Please dont feel concerned and get back to filing your applications asap ..

If I had been in your shoes, I would have preferred sitting for another IELTS test with passport as my Identity Proof rather than further complicating the things.

thank you for the suggestion....actually while registering online for the test i provided details as per PP thinking that test card will have same details but when i went for the finger print i took my resident card as ID proof....if IDP guys could have told me to bring or to show PP i would have done it...but instead they took details from my resident card...sometime i feel like complaining about this to consumer protection authority...here.

Sure

Just add a cover letter explaining situation, also attach the copy / application for new PR card photocopy as well as old one. They can track down a person's history just by a phone number. In this case its an UCI (which never changes)

So relax and go ahead. You are all set.

Hi guys, I'm done with my meds... I would like to ask if in other visa offices, MMR vaccine is also required now? Embassy of Canada in Manila just informed all medical applicants that MMR immunization is now required and the certificate of vaccination is required upon landing in Canada... Thoughts?

Seniors , I have a question now that the processing has started after how long will I receive MR request?
n how come some applicants have received MR request before there processing started at NDVO?

The problem is that I am Iranian and I live in Iran. I went to Pakistan embassy in Tehran today but they had no idea how long it takes and never had done this before. I know its so hard but can you please kindly ask a police station about my situation and see if I came there they can do it for me?
I am ready to pay any expenses that it might have (unofficial)

I can't ask any police station. It has to be the relevant one and the applicant has to be present in person (officially). I suggest you contact your landlord or someone, who was residing in your area of residence... He will be able to help you as he can be witness to your presence and character...
