There are successful examples of Ref Letter be signed by a Manager/Colleague from a earlier cmp, who agrees to vouch for your exp through a normal A4 size paper(need not be letter head).

Please make sure you attach the persons Visiting Card as well as provide all additional proofs such as Paystubs/Experience Letter/Appointment letter and anything else that points to your employment with the orginization

I am not a senior but yes this year we have seen a lot of rejections on the basis of reference letters. Any sort of self declaration of roles and responsibilities have been rejected by CIC.

People who were unable to obtain the reference letters on company's letter head have added a reference letter from their immediate supervisors or managers and enclosed their IDs and visiting cards with application while explaining the reason why they were unable to obtain it on company's letter head.

If you had provided the reference letter in the format specified by CIC from any previous employers which makes you eligible for the main NOC for which you applied i.e. 60%-80% roles matching to the roles mentioned on CIC's website for that particular NOC + at least 1 year of full term employment I guess you will be fine.

But in case you are only relying on self declaration, it might be a reason for rejection.

You can still try to obtain letters from your immediate manager and send those to CIC along with an explanation and the details of the previous package. If they add that doc to your existing application you might be safe.

for the new fee payment form, there is a total of 7 areas to be completed as:
1-principal applicant 0
2-spouse
3-dependent under 19
4-dependent over 19
5-each family member 22 or over
6-each family member under 22 married
7-each family member under 22 not married

i got confused, where to put my wife and 3 kids (8,6,2 years)

No one has reported any update from NDVO today. keeping in mind, their record pace during last 2 weeks, they might be busy in processing the MR reports of applicants (1-9 May) who must have already submitted these.

Thanks a ton , I have already provided the email printouts from seniors here in INDIA and canada from their official email id's also i sent the print out of their profile pages from my company's portal.

I think that should be okay, just the news from some consultant got me hurried a bit , i would still very much anyone to comment that it worked for them this year ( ref letter NOT ON company letter head )
if that is the case i will have a long and peaceful sleep.

You do not have to specifically prove anything or mention anything for an occupation falling under NOC skill level C.

Proofs (reference letters mentioning roles and responsibilities) are only required for NOC under skill level 0, A and B for which you are claiming points.

But if it (occupation under skill level C) falls within past 10 years please make sure you mention it in background declaration form.

Also if you are unable to produce any reference letters of Jobs roles and responsibilites, it would be if you provide the all appraisal letters.

Hi Seniors,

I just got some update from a friend who hired a consultant , and that consultant quoted , he has had many rejections for applications sent by him for the Job details reference letters that are not on company letter head.

He quoted that reference letters prepared by individuals themselves ( maybe getting it notarzied ), still did not help.

Now i know there is a lot of jibber jabber that flies around , but its getting on my nerves since i did not have the reference letter on company letter head , has any of you ( all the seniors or people that have got PER ) - seen any trend like that or maybe any of you who did not provide the company letter head , got PER ??

please reply !! more the number of replies , more calm the people with similar dilemma will get !!

Last year I applied without company reference letter and my application was rejected.

This year I didn't took that risk. I worked in 3 companies, out of which 2 companies issued me the work reference letter on company letterhead with contents as reqd by CIC (I made the draft reference letter). 1 company didnt issued the reference letter, for which I prepared a self declaration/ affidavit and attached employment proofs like employment contract, experience letter, promotion and increment letters and all documents that could support my full-time employment claim. And I was lucky that this year, I received Positive Eligibility Review from CIC.

So, based on my experience, you definitely need to show your experience via work reference letters on company letterhead. There is no exception to this.

Hi Friends,

I am from india, so any of my indian friend can answer...

Is DD from SBI bank will be fine??....i contacted ICICI bank and they said they don't have forms currently available for canada...

and SBI is ready to provide me the DD with 6 months validity...

and one more thing what is the address for "Reciever General for canada"...i need to fill in one of the SBI form..
