Sounds good but the immigration officer needs to be satisfied that you would be able to survive the initial hurdle. And if he seems not satisfied that you cannot support yourself then it becomes risky. It is said that you need to have sufficient funds to at least survive 6 months without any source of income.

Carrying around $5000 for a single person and then add another $2000 per person would be my approach. Well not all in cash. 80/20 rule for DD/Cash. It takes 15 days for an International DD to be cashed to your chequing account so the cash.

Good. This sounds like it could work. Carrying an initial amount to satisfy the officer that you can survive the first couple of months with cash on hand and the bank statements as evidence that altogether you have the full required amount. When taking DD though, it would be one drawn on a Canadian bank so it takes the regular time to clear.

Anyone about to complete the landing process want to try doing this? :) :P

Read my last post - I tried to modify it further to ensure you understand what 'certified copy' meant in your 1st line of the previous post

PS - Dear, tell me whether you understood that last post or not? Do you recognize your error of repeating the same thing? ???

Sorry bro.
Yes, I understand.. thanx for the repeated explanation.

Actually I got confused.

Now I have the following:

Original English BC-------------------------------------------> to be sent to CIC
TRUE COPY of the English BC (Also Original)---> to be sent to CIC
Original Affidavit---> to be sent to CIC
TRUE COPY of the Affidavit (Also Original)---> to be sent to CIC
Original URDU BC---> NOT TO SEND
TRUE COPY of the URDU BC. (This I have to get done)---> to be sent to CIC

I hope I am right this time.

Congrats

You added two extra things that are NOT required so I struck-through those

I really feel you should get an immigration expert otherwise your file is in danger of errors (as you know that I am aware of all your questions)

This is my suggestion, rest of course is up to you mate!

Got it.
You guys r there to help and answer (at times my silly questions) but it helps me understand and clear my doubts.
I am in Oman and cant find a good consultant here to help.
You guys r my consultants ;D and I appreciate the help.

One more ques:
All photocopies which I shall be sending to CIC (like degree, transcript), pp copy etc
DO I NEED TO SEND 'TRUE COPIES' OF ALL THAT AS WELL?
or simply the photocopies without attestation?

Hey guys,

I sent my passport to CPC along with an Xpresspost mailing label around 2 weeks back from USA. I emailed CPC yeterday because I was a little concerned about not receiving my passports back, and they replied that they've sent our passports back to us via regular mail (untrackable!).

Does anyone know why CPC didn't use the mailing label we sent them? (It did have the return address as CPC-Ottawa, was that the problem?).

Also, does anyone know how it may take for us to get our passsports back? I read somewhere that CIC sends stuff via diplomatic mail and it could take a while. Is that correct ?

Good luck to everyone on this forum, and may god make you wishes come true.

Best,

Simple photocopies are fine. Only need translations / true copies for documents in Urdu, Arabic etc. (i.e. not in English/ French)

PS - One request though, please ask in the forum only. Thanks for your understanding on this!

Perfect :)

Yes sure!
At times, posts get missed out thts why to get a response I pm. 8)

(+1 Oscar for your continued help)
(+1 to Canol as well)
(Will keep bothering you brother for a week or two more) until I finalize my application! Plz support thanx.

As oscar has been trying to patiently point out to you, the photocopy of your originial URDU BC also has to be certified. That is, this photocopy also has to be taken to the notary where he/she stamps that it is a true copy of the original.

+1 to u too bro.

+1 for that

And you might want to save these for future use.

Plus did you save the edit link now, after entering your details?

I have one query on the SS sheet "Apps by NOC/Caps Estimates", column "F". What is the basis of this calculation, kindly share. Particularly how "current # " is based ?

Thanks and best wishes!

Oscar7 said:
Actually I have never looked at that column in detail as I do my quick analysis basis the main sheet (FSW14 Applicants) and App. status by recd. date sheet only for the most part. These have been enough for me to deep-dive. But my guess is that column data should be basis two things - 1) the # of applicants in the SS for a NOC, and 2) the CIC updates. Let me however double-check that and confirm in sometime.

I'll quickly check my thinking on NOC 2171 i.e. 33.5% in that column for 2171

Yes, I too used only the first sheet primarily for my analysis. Today, but I was curious as I couldn't relate to the general logic for this column. All the more, we have the estimation of cap dates based on this!

Many thanks. Will await inputs!

In the documents checklist it is said that copies should be notarized. But I've heard of people in this forum who didn't notarize some documents and still scaled through. I'd advice you notarize all copies to be on the safe side. Best of luck.

I keep refreshing my email but still no PER, I blame Oscar7 lol
