CIC will refund the fees in your case. Copying here the excerpt from operational manual. Let seniors shed more light on this.

If the application does not meet all the criteria of applicable Ministerial Instructions, then the CIO will make a final negative determination of eligibility for processing and:
o record the outcome and reasons in GCMS;
o initiate a refund of processing fees; and
o inform the applicant (see Appendix A for sample letter).

+1 to both for that thought - very, very valid point :) (let me see if karma allows)

And I think senior members should wake up to the reality in the forum - what are we trying to create here? A monster that needs to be constantly fed with dumb questions and answers to things that are very explicitly stated on CIC site or a forum of value and some good level discussions. Yes I understand that not everyone is at the same level of understanding / intelligence but just for +1s sake we cannot continue to degrade the level of questions to discussions about fears and nightmares basis how CIC works to continue in the forum. Also people should avoid answering very, very basic questions.

I think it will help if we have some guidelines as to what types of questions we need NOT answer here - lately it seems the threads are full of fear and nervousness sharing and most silly - when will I get to hear on this and that - type of questions.

Experts I need your views on this, thank you! In PM or on forum, either works for me!

Completely agree with you here. I tend to simply ignore questions, the answers to which are one click away in CIC's website. If people can't even be bothered to do that much, I feel it is an insult to all that try to take time out of their own busy schedule and help out in these forums.
