Lastweek total applications received on CIC site was 887
today they have updated the count its 1421

A whooping increase of 534 apps in one week !!!! ;D ;D

I'm really shocked , and hope CIC keeps up the speed

Did CIC really processes 534 apps in one week, or they updated the numbers that they must have missed in previous weeks :-X

I guess the snail pace in the early days is to motivate the people worldwide to keep applying, and not just drop the idea of immigrating, looking at fast filling caps.

Once they have sufficient number of applications on their table, they also can not wait until one sunny day to declare that the 'cap is full'. So after a while, they start squirting the numbers more realistically. :

Please someone put light on this for me, the count shown on this link refers to the Completed Applications (Visa Issued) or the applications which have been successfully opened at CIO and applicants are issued PER.

What is your status going to be after the expiry of current H1B Visa and before the date of issuance of extension ? Between Sep and Nov that is.

As far as I know, extension has to be secured before the expiry. There is a certain grace period though, but is it long enough in your case ?

PS: I assume you are talking about expiration of your status, and not the visa itself.

You are correct , it is expiration of status & visa. Status of stay will be still valid till USCIS give decision. If it is approved i would get extended dates & if refected then I should leave USA within 10-15 days of decision.

So at present my length of stay is unsure which makes me not to select USA visa office & I am sure(based on other similar applications) that it will be approved & so wont be staying at home country .

Relax, even if it is out of the cap, you can apply for the january based system as you would need the same documents that you have sent now. Secondly, I dont think your app would be out of the cap. I recently posted my app for 2174, I think I might make the cap and my category is moving much more quickly than yours. Be positive, you wont know anything before november end and even if it gets rejected, just try for the express entry

Guys! I m a newbie, and need help. I have 2 questions:

1- What do you provide for the proof of 2 years of post graduate study in Canada to get the 5 points of adaptability? It was not on the check list; there is only one for phd stream applicants. What should I provide and where should I mention in the check list that I have provided that so that they will not miss it? (there s no check box for that)

2- Will my birth certificate translation have to be recent? mine is 3 years old.
