A few questions:

1 - It seems that both my spouse and I are required to fill the additional family information form. When she does it, under applicant, should she put her name and I would be the spouse or does she do it the same way I did it (myself as applicant)? I am the main applicant btw.

2 - In the economic class form they tell you question 12 A - they tell you identify the primary occupation and corresponding NOC. Should I write the name of my occupation or the name of the occupation as it is presented in the NOC? My occupation name is Logistics Coordinator, but I am applying for purchasing manager.

3 - There are a number of forms that I don't think I have anything to fill in: for example use of representative and separation and statutory declaration. Should I just forget about them and not even put them in my application?

1. In her copy, she puts her name as the applicant and yours as her spouse. And she signs her copy.

2. Put your title here. This should be an exact match with the primary title you are applying under and you want CIC to evaluate your application against.

3. Don't fill these 2 forms and don't include them in your application.

Hi Yousif,

These forms have their limitations as we can't change the text font and can add only limited characters. For adding more information, it is advisable that you attach separate sheet with the form in the same format and provide additional information. Do ensure additional sheet should have your name at the top along with the form title and question number that you are answering in that particular sheet.

It is not possible to change font size....but if you use Lowers case instead of upper case, You can type more letters.

I c. The guide tells you to only include occupations that fall under skill type 0, level A or B of the list. Which ones are those? I only see skill level 1 - 2 - 3 etc

Occupations in Skill Types 1 through to 9 are classified under Skill Levels A, B, C or D. Management occupations, which span all Skill Types, are found above the Skill Level categorization in the NOC Matrix.

Skill Level is referenced by the second digit of the NOC code. The second numeral in the NOC code for an occupation identifies the Skill Level as follows:

Skill level A are all NOC codes that don't start with 0 but have 1 as the 2nd digit - like 2143 or 3112
Skill level B are all NOC codes that don't start with 0 but have 2 or 3 as the 2nd digit - like 1231 or 7315

Those above are the occupations that are considered "skilled" under immigration rules.

Those below are considered low-skilled or semi-skilled:

Skill level C are all NOC codes that don't start with 0 but have 4 or 5 as the 2nd digit
Skill level D are all NOC codes that don't start with 0 but have 6 as the 2nd digit

You can read about this and more at http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC/English/NOC/2006/Introduction.aspx

NOC Skill Types:
0 Management Occupations
1 Business, Finance and Administration Occupations
2 Natural and Applied Sciences and Related Occupations
3 Health Occupations
4 Occupations in Social Science, Education, Government Service and Religion
5 Occupations in Art, Culture, Recreation and Sport
6 Sales and Service Occupations
7 Trades, Transport and Equipment Operators and Related Occupations
8 Occupations Unique to Primary Industry
9 Occupations Unique to Processing, Manufacturing and Utilities

The form asks for “Applicant” and not “Principal Applicant“. Take care of it when filling the form. You, as a Principal applicant will write your name in “Applicant” Column and you will write your wife/husbands name in “Spouse” column.

Similarly, when your spouse is filling the form, he/she will write his/her name in the “Applicant” row & your name in the “Spouse“.

For both forms, you will write your kids details [if any], or will sign the declaration at the bottom of second section for no kids.

The last table will be filled separately by the two of you with your own siblings.

Quick question guys:

"When you submit your application to the CIO, you must include original results of one of the following language tests from a testing agency designated by CIC."

can we provide notarized copy? I will be applying for 2 different NOCs and I only have one original test result paper.

notarized copy not recommended ask testing authorities to issue you additional copy of result and submit primal with both applications
Good luck

Dear All,
My application was received on 10th July 2014. Assuming all documents are in place, by when can i expect to get charged on my CC.

No one knows :) Check the spreadsheet estimation, which is a very rough estimate.

There is an indication that they are long past 20th May

In one of the forms you are asked to list your occupations within the last 10 preceding years and to include their NOC. Should you mention the ones that have nothing to do with the federal skilled worker NOCs as well? Or only the ones related to the NOCs they are accepting?

For example should I mention being a material analyst if that is not in the list of admission for this year?
You can put the NOC which you worked, even thou it may not be on eligible 50 NOC.
