Dear Experts,

I am 34 and I don't have a birth certificate. I tried to contact my home town municipal office, they don't have a record of it either. Same is the case with my spouse as well. Can you please advise if I can use my passport as proof of age or can I file an affidavit for the same? Please advise if there are any other alternate documents that can be used for this purpose.

Thank you.

NO. YOU CAN BE 100% SURE, YOUR APPLICATION WILL NOT BE REJECTED FOR THIS REASON.

I have submitted ECA with master's degrees only (excluding bachelor's degree because university was taking too long to respond to transcript request). Does that mean CIO will refuse my application that too after charging fees?

In "Generic Application Form for Canada IMM0008ENU_2D", question 12a about "Previous Countries of Residence", I have a question.

5 years ago in 2009, I was in the USA from end of September 2009 to end of January 2010 (about 4 months) to complete my last semester of university. After return in January 2009 I've been in India ever since. Do I need to fill this out as a country of residence ?

Also, in form "Supplementary Information – Your travels [IMM 5562]", Question 2a about my travels in the last 10 years: I left for USA in 2007 for my Master's, came back for summer to India in 2008, and again in summer 2009. Finally as mentioned above, left in Sep 2009 for USA and back in 2010 January. So, a total of three times I had to leave India for the USA for varying period in months. Do I also mention these in "travels" including the length and state purpose as "Education" or "Study" ?

Thank you!

If you are in India, you can ask your municipal office to issue BC. I did the same and got the BC in a week after submitting the required documents at the municipality. Contact them they would tell you how to get yourself registered perhaps they would ask for your high school certificate OR an affidavit from your parents and 2 witness from your locality who would testify on a notorised affidavit that you were born on 'this this date' to 'this this parents' at 'this this place'.

Thank you very much for the suggestion. Unfortunately, I don't live in that town any more. We migrated to a city about 15 years back and I don't even know any one there. In fact, I move to a different state altogether. Its next to impossible for me to get the same. Can you please suggest if there can be any other alternative for the birth certificate.

My friend has applied for Canada previously and got PR. He has suggested that I can use my passport copy for the same with a covering letter. Is there a change in rules recently regarding this?

Thanks again, appreciate your help very much.

[MY NAME]:
This refers to your application for permanent residence in Canada in the Federal Skilled Worker class.

The Minister of Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism issued instructions which were published in the Canada Gazette on May 1, 2014. Only applicants who meet the criteria specified in these Ministerial Instructions are eligible to be processed in the Federal Skilled Worker class.

Based on a review of the information you have provided, your application has received a positive determination of eligibility to be processed on the basis of work experience in an occupation specified in the Instructions issued by the Minister of Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism and published in the Canada Gazette on May 1, 2014. However a final decision on your eligibility to be selected as a federal skilled worker will be made by a visa office.

Your application has now been placed into processing.

This correspondence also acknowledges receipt of your Fee Payment Form IMM 5620 authorizing CIC to take payment of processing fees using the credit card details provided. Please be informed that we processed a payment of $1,400.00 Canadian dollars on this credit card (ending in xxxx). Your receipt number is xxxxxx. Please include a letter identifying what the changes are and any relevant supporting documents. If your documents are not in English or French, send a notarized (certified) translation with a copy of the originals.

It is important for you to learn about the steps you need to take to get your credentials and qualifications recognized in Canada. Citizenship and Immigration Canada recommends that you review the resources on the Foreign Credentials Referral Office's website (www.credentials.gc.ca) and the Department's website (www.cic.gc.ca) for helpful information about living and finding work in Canada. If your application will be processed through China, India, the Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Japan or the UK, you might receive information and an invitation letter from CIC about free in-person assistance. In order to participate in this service you will require an invitation letter from the CIC mission which will be sent to you during the later stages of the immigration process if you are determined to be eligible for it. You can access information about this free in-person assistance at www.newcomersuccess.ca . Actual participation in this in-person service is not a guarantee nor an indicator that your immigration application will ultimately be successful or that you will receive an immigrant visa.

Thank you for your interest in Canada.

Apart from her documents in Canada, and passport showing her relation with my friend's mother, does she need to send a letter affirming her willingness to sponsor him? If yes, what could be the format like?
