My credit card is due to expire in June 2015. If my file reaches by end of August'14, will it be safe to use it for making payment?
You are fine with your credit card.
Cheers

It should be absolutely no problem.

But if ur a Indian applicant, and do not have a chip enabled CC , do not make any other international transactions before CIC charge. Your old card will be immediately replaced by a new chip card if U make a international transaction. Your first international transaction will go through, but any subsequent international transactions could cause a problem.
yeah it isn't chip enabled. but i've already used it twice for making payment for WES a couple of months ago and so far no action has been reported by the bank to replace it.

PS: u have made me worried a bit :( . are u 100% sure?

It sounds like you have taken that otherwise. If you have already taken the backup of all than its well and good. It wasn't discussed before so thought to write. well done :)

Just thinking - maybe it still makes sense to create a specialized backup account with a backup folder readable by everyone.
It would be safer this way, as for now the backups are stored only in my account. I'll think about it.

Dear all,
My application is received by CIC on 14th July 2014. Just want to know that does CIC is sending PER acknowledgement through Email or snail mail? and what else does this email contain (UCI, application number ....etc). If anyone can explain in detail please.

What? :) Why would we lose all the data?
It's not me who created these issues with the spreadsheet - it's because of an update done by Google. I don't blame Google for this, as the changes they've made can be considered an improvement for particular cases, but it's still a rather aggressive spreadsheet behavior change from their side.

By the way, I wanted to tell that I've just finished fixing these issues. All 19 affected entries were successfully recovered/fixed and no data has been lost. Charts are now fixed as well.

Regarding data safety, the data is stored not only in the spreadsheet, but also separately as a list of form responses.
In addition to that, I've been backing up the spreadsheet regularly, and I've implemented automatic daily backups today.
Perhaps the only thing that could be improved here is to store those backups somewhere else, so that they can't be modified or deleted. Like on a magnetic tape ;D Otherwise, we have a fairly good backup system already.

Appreciate Dmitry. Good job.

Hello,
I re-send my application on August 1, 2014 after I filled wrong Application fee ( CAD 500 instead of 550..That was stupid of me..)..

Any chance I will make it ? It is NOC 1112. My first application was recieved May 13, 2014 and They returned it Back to me the day before yesterday.

Is there anyway they consider to give a priority because it was a minor mistake ?
thanks

Seniors,

in the schedule A, Background / declaration form i need some help.

what to write in the 7th question in EDUCATION.

Type of Certificate or Diploma issued : in case of 10th - i wrote high school (is it right), in case of BA, MBA (what to write)?
Field of Study : In case of BA (i wrote humanities), MBA (i wrote HR), what to write in 10th class ?

Sorry to hear that but no priority will be given and the app you resend will be back in the queue for processing.

Your initial application is coming back btw.

It depends on the category under which you are applying. If the cap for a particular category hasnt reached then you stand a good chance!
I dont think they accord priority since there is a heavy rush of applications.
